“Civil rights” is just another fulcrum now......a throw away line and a means to an end.

he coulda said "abortion of civil rights"...

Trump and his supporters have no inclination to address civil rights...they're busy dismantling progress in that arena...

voter suppression laws passed in numerous states...non-renewal of Voting Rights Act...purging of "poor" people from voter rolls...continuous bleating of false narrative that there is massive voter fraud in America to justify restriction of civil right to vote...

according to a GOP political consultant, voter suppression laws are designed to limit black voting

Delta... I'm sure you caught it, can't remember the exact quote, but when discussing an election day holiday McConnell called it a "power grab" by the Dems...

That's a direct insinuation that republicans rely on people who cannot afford to not work to not vote.... It's weird.

I didn't catch that, but there are several videos of GOP law-makers who have said the real reason for Voter ID and other similar laws was NOT for voter fraud, but to restrict Dem, poor and black voters...

Dems want more people to vote...
GOP wants fewer people to vote...

here is the McConnell video:

it's really a shame that the GOP is shrinking, and as a counter-measure, is devising efforts to discourage people from voting...

the GOP Autopsy following the elections of 2012 was, in my view, a blueprint for potential GOP expansion...a vision with inclusion and building a bigger tent...that's been relegated to the trash heap...especially with Trump's victory...

Dems don't want voter ID laws because it would limit the illegal alien vote for them.

If you are legal and live in the US, there is no reason you would not have a government issued ID. You need an ID to do almost everything else in our daily lives, why not have one to vote.

And please don't say you can't afford one or don't have time to get one. Voter ID laws have been around for years, no reason to not have time to go get one right now before the next election. In most cases they will even wave the fee for elder people.
