local sports writer wrote today that the Bruins' competition does not seem to be getting tougher by the round.
It's looking like the only team that can beat them is themselves.

Yep! Boston is looking good. Don't think the Sharks nor Blues can beat them.

Going into the finals:

St. Louis (jespear) vs. Boston (Whistlebritches)

Blues have never won the Stanley Cup and haven't been to the finals since 1970!!

Hoping for a great series!

Kinda, as there was a penalty on Boston so they pulled the goalie.

two athletic cities I really hate: Boston and St. Louis...wish both of them could lose...but if I have to pick one, it would be Boston...

massholes are bad enough with the Pats and Red Sox reigning champions, especially since they both beat an L.A. team...they'd be insufferable if Bruins win...

3 f'n pro sports champions at the same time...has it ever happened before?

NY Jets won Super Bowl III in 1969, the Mets won the World Series in 1969 and the Knicks won the NBA championship in 1969-70! Think

the Jets won the game played in 1969 for the 1968 season
Mets won in 1969 for the 1969 season
Knicks won in 1970 for the 69/70 season

but I think Detroit did all three in the same year like in the 40's?...I'll check

In the history of North American major professional sports league championships (which include the NFL, MLB, NBA, and NHL) a city/metropolitan area has been home to multiple championships in a season seventeen times, most recently in 2018-2019, when the Boston Red Sox and Patriots won their respective leagues, in October 2018 and February 2019. Only Detroit has been host to more than two major league championship teams in a season.[1]

The Blues pull their goalie and the Bruins score.
The Blues put their goalie back in, and the Bruins score. d'oh!
THAT'S just embarrassing.
Sometimes, a "bihtch slapping" like that will wake a team up.
Hopefully, for my sake, that will be the case !
