Gotta go in an hour and a half early tonight.

Gotta stay over an hour and a half tomorrow.

Did finish making the switch away from Geico. Got $400 coming back from them, and got a $600 check back from State Farm for the homeowner's discount by moving my cars to them. Saved $2400 annually.

Still gotta move the camper over to State Farm, and cancel the motorcycle policy on the bike I haven't rode in two years. Really need to take some pictures and put that up for sale too.

If I saved that much on insurance, they would be paying me. Saved almost $ 600 this year by switching. I'll be checking rates again next year if it increases more than 3 %.

wife doesn't bother checking rates anymore...she seems happy with Mercury for auto and home...she pays auto part, I pay home part...not worth it to me to go comparison shopping because the package discount off-sets any possible rate reduction for home insurance only...

I've had USAA for over 30 years. About 15 years ago I called around to compare and most wouldn't even bother to offer a quote when I told them I had USAA. I haven't bothered to check since then. I've had about 8 total claims (auto and home) over the years and my satisfaction has been high for all.....though 2 home claims got a bit frustrating in the early days....every auto claim has been outstanding.

I was paying out the nose for Geico. Rates have only gone up, and I've had the same policy since I was 20.

When we bought our house, on closing day I had to have a policy written in like a 2 hour timeframe so I went to the State Farm agent a couple doors down from the realtor where we were closing and they got it done. A few months later I got auto quotes from them and they were the same price. But at the time I had two beaters and only carried liability so it didn't matter. I'd never had full coverage before, so really didn't know what it would cost when I bought the wife a new car. Called Geico from the dealership and just took what they gave me. Then I bought my truck 4 years ago and took their price again.

I called Geico about a year or so ago and asked if there was any way to get the rates down as I was paying $230 a month. They said I had all discounts applicable. So I just went with it. But when I bought the wife's new Civic, it went up another $50/mo, so now insurance was more than the car payment. No tickets, and only one claim in 15 years for a tire blowout.

Called State Farm to get prices and they were $160/mo cheaper plus almost cut my homeowner's in half saving about $250/mo in total. No brainer, made the switch. Called Geico to cancel and the retention department got me down to $85/mo. Almost $200/mo off what I was paying... I said ok, leave it open for now. Wanted to get quotes for the camper and homeowners and sit down and compare coverage and stuff. The camper policy was a bit more with State Farm, but they also valued it $5k higher than Geico. Geico homeowner's was a bit higher than State Farm. In the end the total cost was the same between the two if I put all the policies under one company, and put $200+/mo back in my pocket.

Back to work and won't be home for at least 16 hours.

I like that the long hours get me more days off, but it sure wrecks a day. I miss 8's sometimes.

But I do like having every other week off so I can go camping and do racecar things with my buddies during the summer.

8 hour shifts are overrated. I prefer working the 12's and having more days off (when I ain't working OT).

Even 4 10-hour days is preferable to the 8.

When I worked in a factory we did mon-thurs 10s and fri day was optional overtime.

I still feel like that gave me a better work life balance on work days.

Maybe it's just the nightshift 12s that kick my azz

Frustrating day of trying to get product assembled. Had to drive to the same damn hardware store 3 times, and I have to go back again in the am.

Best schedule I ever had was four 9s and a 4.
6:00-3:30 M-R
6:00-10:00 Fridays.

It was like endless, three day weekends.

84 hours in a pay period = more money. 12 hour shifts = more days off. Night shift blows chunks, though.

Scouting mission on a cattle boat tomorrow, down to the Islands.

Nope. 4:30pm to 4:30am-- They're up until 11pm when we lock down, and then at 0300 we wake the guys up who are going to court. And just about the time I leave... breakfast.

Plenty of opportunity for mayhem.

Day shift is busier, for sure... but better for sanity.

I have never had a fixed work schedule. Sounds great utill you realize you end up with less time off then someone punching a clock. i still hope to parlay my flex schedule into MORE TIME OFF. After 35 years I almost have it figured out.

Having a day off as a salaried guy doesn't mean much, other than the next day will be twice as busy.

3:00 am for court dates? Two hours to look their best in tailored suits, an hour breakfast in the atrium, an hour at the attorney, then to the judge for 8? My guess would be judges have grueling schedule of
of 9:30-3:00.

Coach me up.

We walk them from housing to transportation. We divide them up into cells, depending on where they're going.

Then we bus them to the other jails, depending on where their case is being heard. Some are lucky enough to be housed in the same jail where their court case is being heard.

Meh... don't like it, don't come to jail.

It's Thursday, Dan. Working night shift, I understand your confusion.

My body is not adjusted yet... so I slept like ****, and I'm up before my alarm by a half hour.

But I'm ready for some fishing.

Apologies for the fake news.

It's the second morning of my work week, which starts on Wednesday. Except for this week I started Tuesday. I thought it was Friday. I even wrote out Friday's surgical schedule on the whiteboard.

Corrections have been made. Hopefully it's sorted now.

Happy THURSDAY fellas.

My autopilot continues...

Cleaned the litter box, took out the trash, but stopped myself before taking the bin to the end of the driveway.

Garbage day is Friday.

It is not Friday today.

I need to go to bed.
