I'm tired after reading Victor's account of yesterday.Yesterday I looked at the garden and what needs to be done and I got depressed. I still haven't fully recovered from that end of March flu. Rain again this afternoon and tomorrow evening.

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood.

I have to sleep it away.

Cold comes back in tomorrow, when I'm off

Tomatoes were in a month ago and some are larger than golf ball size now. They only last until about mid-June here as they can't take the desert summers. I have Bush Goliath hybrid and Patio. Have not seen the Brandywine locally.

Taking the wifey in for cataract surgery this morning. She had the other eye done two weeks ago and all went well. No more need for glasses/contacts.

Unwrapped the camper this morning. Found no mice, and all traps are still set. Couple nibbles on the bait blocks though. Can smell a dead mouse somewhere in there but can't find it, probably under the floor somewhere and a trip down the road will clear it up.

First mowing of the season. Got about a quarter of the yard done but once I started hitting the lower areas I kept sinking in the mud and called it quits. Yard looks like crap now. Mud lines and grass piles everywhere. Oh well, had to be done, some areas were a good 8" high. The swampy bits aren't growing as quickly so got some time before I have to go out with a trimmer and my waders to knock it down.

Took the 10 sandbags outta my truck and spread the sand out as a walking path in the chicken run so it's not a slick mud/crap surface to walk on. Been doing this for years. First year I put down pavers which were quickly overtaken. About 4 years ago I put down another set of pavers and they've since been overtaken as well. Chickens crap a LOT.

I got one more day to work then back to my regularly scheduled off week.

Been a while since I've had my regular week off. I've had other weeks off though. Beer

Still need to get a lawnmower.
Sod only went in a little over a week ago, so it's been watered 2x a day and will continue to be for another week. Then I'm on vacay for a week. So I suspect the lawn will be very tall when I get back and have to mow.

I need to get a lawnmower too

On the up-side... tried the beer at 2 weeks. Not terrible. Not going to win any awards... but I can drink it.

I think if I'm able to fix even some of the numerous steps where I think mistakes were made, I can actually make this a tasty enough beer. I'm gonna try this recipe again, but do it right... or at least righter....

....once I finish drinking all the many beers I have

Do you see a lot more determinate breeds out there like early girls? Brandywines take 120 days or more but you could get away with it... They're the best tomato imo... Also been doing these yellow, low acid Jubilee's that have an incredible yield... If you have any interest in growing something different next year, pm me your addy.... I've got a bunch of seeds stored away...

Thanks Opel. Anything that takes more than about 70-80 days and the fruit splits due to the heat. Early Girls and lots of Cherry and hybrids work best. Put these in as seedlings last week of Feb and starting to ripen now.

Well, I have been up since 7:30 am yesterday. Started the day out with my first visit to a neuro stroke specialist. 75 bucks to be told how important it is for me to take my blood thinners on time and regular.

My first thought was "You Think?" especially after that was what caused my stroke 3 years ago in the first place... Well Duh! came to mind pretty quick.

One good thing came from it I guess. 3 years after the stroke they are NOW going to send me to physical therapy for the first time. Does the words "A BIT FUC*ING LATE" sound familiar. My wife says better late than never. I say it would have been nice to not have to suffer in building bad habits due to trying to learn on my own to compensate for the past 3 years. All just to now have to relearn and retrain my body. After bad habits have done been formed, anyone with half a brain knows it is better to teach than to have to reteach.

I wonder if it will do much good now to be honest due to this. Physical Therapy is not my area of expertise. I am just wondering since it has been so long if it is just something else now to charge me and my insurance or if it will do any good. Ex. have open heart surgery then 5 years later send you to cardiac physical therapy for the first time. I do not think it would do you much good by then but I could be wrong. Anyone know?Confused

Freedom!

Wanted to do some things before bed, but it's raining.

Could head out to the camper and put away all the camping supplies. I empty everything out into rubbermaid bins in the fall, so I don't have to sift the mouse crap out of our stuff in the spring. Just vacuum it out of the cabinets and put the stuff away.

Or I might go to bed. Anything can happen. Ate some tacos and drank some beers already.

Good morning!

Ewok - Better late than never? Honestly, I hope things work out for you. My thinking is if they would have done physical therapy back then, you would probably be in a better position now.

What about Game of Thrones last episode! Everything is coming together!

Barely made it past the garage. Went into the camper, but only to grab another beer from the fridge. Went back to my garage recliner with a short cigar. Then bed.

Got lots to do in the next couple days before we go. Got the stuff to do truck brakes now I hope. Not sure if I risk going on old brakes vs risking being unable to reassemble before the trip. Gotta Jack up the camper and pull the wheels off to adjust brakes and lube hubs.

I've always made our first trip out to the dunes, only 30-40 minutes from home in case there was an issue. Last year with the water tank falling out from under the camper was thankfully close to home. But they were booked. So we're starting out 3 hours from home, so I gotta sort things before rolling out.

Getting up from my desk this morning, I caught the outside of my ankle on the corner of the desk.... Barely bumped it, but i must've struck a nerve or something... Couldn't walk for about 10 minutes and had sharp pains all the way up my leg... Is there a funny bone in the ankle?

a friend once asked me to help him do repairs on his car. He knew I am not exactly mechanically inclined but said he could use another pair of hands.

he slid under the car on that creeper thing and started asking for various tools and stuff...but before I could react, he'd slide out and grab what he wanted.

On the third or fourth time I said I was trying to help but he was in too much of a rush. He replied "you're like working with a dead man".

Danm, on my way!

I tend to agree.

You go to a Dr for a specific thing and they tend to want to set you up with 3 other specialist that has nothing to do with what you are there for.

Ex. Hi Doc, I am here to see you today because you are an ENT specialist and I have this issue with strep throat and tonsillitis all the time.

Doc says well I want you to go see my buddy the proctologist. Give me 75 bucks

Go to the proctologist and after he runs his finger up your butt he says, Ok I am going to give you a prescription of phenylephrine . Give me 75 bucks and 103 bucks at the pharmacy then go see the Osteo Surgeon.

So off to see the Osteo Surgeon just to end up paying him another 75 bucks for the visit plus 30 grand for the new rods and screws in my spine for upgrade purposes?

$30,304.00 dollars later with a sore arse, a screwed up back and a high dollar box of Preparation H that I never used all because I had a sore throat 8 months ago.

I guess this is what we can call the new model of "standard patient care"

That was my thinking as well Shana. Many years in the neuro field myself and I have never seen this kind of incompetence. I mean it is like we have skipped mild stupidity and went straight to asinine and lunacy.

I quit watching Game of Thrones after the first season. I loved it but because of the length of time between seasons, I go bat crap crazy with no closure. Once it is all done I will start from the beginning again (maybe) lol.

This begs the question as to whether or not you are taking the preparation H correctly.
