PDR is a company that has always been hit or miss for me.

This cigar is kinda in between. Not a bad smoke, but definitely not a box purchase. It has a spiciness that reminds me of the old Azteca and 3 Siglos blends.

Snobs dismiss PDR, but I find them very interesting. They're available for very cheap prices, and sometimes they're just worth the low amount you paid, but other times they're much better than that, and smoke like a much more expensive cigar. It's hard to predict which you'll get, in any given order.

In my experience and opinion so far, PDR delivers low prices all the time, and surprisingly high quality some of the time!

Pudding Mittens - I would have to agree with you on PDR. I used to pass them up too, especially for the inflated price(above $8). But the some of them are really good. The A. Flores Gran Reserva Corojo 2006 is great at $3 a stick and the A. Flores Serie Privada Habano sp52/sp54 at the same price are decent smokes too. BUT. If you get a chance to try the A. Flores Edicion Limitada AFR-75 San Andres Maduro Imenso for $4 a stick. Jump. Especially if you can get the darker older production, I got some new ones that aren't as dark a Maduro as some of the older AFR-75 sticks are, they aren't as good. Another stick to try to get on sale by PDR is the Flores y Rodriguez Connecticut Valley Reserve Maduro, VERY good stick. IF you can get it cheap. Not worth the $14-$15 they want at most places... but at $5 a stick, it is a steal.

I've gotten PDRs from here and other places, and found them to be an acceptable everyday cheapie. I received a few shipments from the tenski place, and every one (PDR, A. Flores, La Palina classic) all taste of mildew. I haven't had that problem with any of the ones from here. Anyone else experience this?

Yes, but limited to one particular cigar (PDR A Crop robusto Oscuro) and occurring on only about 5% of those. The other 95 % were fine. The affected cigars were dry boxed and after some drying time most were OK
