I probably wouldn't have put it quite that way....but S.A. is sort of like Blue Nun with a PBR chaser

Current Top 3

1. El Corojo from Vuelta Abajo and Partidos
2. Ecuadorian Habano - generally, those on the more fermented side
3. (Tie) Ecuadorian Sumatra; Maduro CT Broadleaf

back in the day, you couldn't get out of bootcamp and become a Seaman if you couldn't swim....knew a few guys and gals that got set back a few times...kind of like having to repeat a grade. I don't have data, but it did seem that the proportion of 'non-swimmers' was heavily black....was never sure why....probably more complicated than just race, however

Eh..........can’t pick.
Too many times I’ve smoked different cigars, that have the same wrapper.........and I’ll love one, while the other is meh.
I like wrappers that burn nice and aren’t too fragile, that have a nice aroma, and taste good.

It's socioeconomics. Minorities lack opportunities due to racial discrimination and the wide gaps of socioeconomic factors. People that become good swimmers learn early and have access to pools and vacation with pools and have plenty access to water sports. I would suppose if Charles Manson's race war ever got started a lot more Blacks would have houses with pools.

Swim opportunities, sure....some of that is economics....some sociomumbojumbo, too, I'm sure. Lots of very poor country kids swim just fine....though I don't know if there's a racial disparity in swim ability out in the country....maybe we need a government funded study

Yea gotta love all the lakes that are naturally found in the ghettos. We would set up tire swings from the top 4D apartment and crack our heads in the turtle pools. Good times!

Not to over simplify it, but if you grew up poor and white, you probably grew up in a section 8 apartment complex... If you grew up poor and black, you probably grew up in the projects... Section 8's have pools because their mixed in with non 8's... The projects are the projects... No pools...

Probably no communal swimming lessons available in the projects. Little or no access to country club pools, either.

How do you two racists go from an anecdote about 'blacks' to 'grew up in the projects'?

I don't think facts are racist... Poor white people and poor black people - in general - don't grow up the same way... Not a hard rule, but it holds generally true... I've never seen any white projects before...

Well I have to take that last statement back... There are plenty of white projects... They're called trailer parks and they're usually surrounded by an above ground system of moats called doughboy's... Keeps the blacks out...

I've never seen or heard of PA broadleaf. Do you know of the general flavor notes of this wrapper?

RP was one of the first to use it in his highly acclaimed Winter Blend (OR only as the re-released was no where near as good). AJ uses it in some of his cigars including the Diesel. Pete Johnson has used it in some of his limited edition releases. Southern Draw has used it, as well as many others. Flavor notes tend to vary/progress from milk chocolate, dark chocolate, baker's chocolate, expresso. It usually also tends to have a hint of sweetness, with spice and leather notes.

Basically the same plant as Conn Broadleaf, but since it is grown in Lancaster county, PA, it takes on different flavor notes. It is also usually stalk cut instead of primed.

Yea lucky for us all our dads are locked up in a system of racial inequality. Oh whats that sir? You can't find a job...here take this CIA program and make a couple of bucks before we tip off the DEA about you so we can add more money to our corporate jail system. Boo hoo!

Love the Illusione Corojos. I would imagine corojo/rosado would be hard to find.
