Consider yourself blessed. Over the past 10 years I've tossed dozens and dozens of cigars.

They were smokeable about 5 years ago, but they vanished and then reappeared about a year ago. A signal that a resurrection of a Gurkha is not something to buy.

I'd bought some bundles of these when the first came out and buried them and forgot all about them for a few years before I smoked them. They actually were very good, but that was the original release and whatever they're selling now isn't likely to resemble what was sold before. Think they were the last Gurkha's I bought too, saw what everyone else was seeing: original release may be good, but subsequent production feels like they just grab random leaves and stuff them in a cigar.

I don't know why I torture myself, but today I just HAD to retry one of the Gurkha 'Rogue' that I bought last year...

Every Gurkha I have attempted to smoke has been loose,
an air bag, and if it has any flavor, it is bad...

Not even a good mowing cigar...

The most satisfying part of the experience was tossing it in front of the mower,
and watching the confetti come out of the discharge when I drove over it...

Maybe I'll learn some day...

You’re lucky it didn’t kill your mower...

Tho I have heard good things about them (rogues), in my personal experience they are just mediocre. I think I may still have a few waiting for lawn gars.

CI has been slipping that Grukha Orange in some of their special, and often otherwise very worthwhile, deals and boy does that cigar suck. Likewise couldn't finish it.

if I read this correctly, you're aging them until they become yard gars?

Curious if the MSRP was higher on the mower or the Gurkha?

Maybe, or perhaps I just wait until any cigar will do. On the other hand, I have quite a few 5 years and older that I save for special occasions because they are that good.

Didn’t someone here say they read/heard that Hansotia was becoming a real cigar guy, with his own fields, rollers, factory, etc.
Heck, who knows, maybe Gurkhas will get good and consistent.

I'm not counting on it. Having their own factory may be a plus and will probably be the source of the best cigars, but basically Hansotia is a showoff con man.

I’ve seen a picture of him actually smoking a cigar recently, and there was a time he stated that he didn’t even enjoy cigars.

And I believe they are trying to grow and roll some of their own now

I doubt it, he spends more time designing the next challenge coin, Rambo knife or fancy packaging for that special Gurkha stick with the $999.95 MSRP, yet is always 95% off.

I wanna try the diamond encrusted gold leaf one. I hear gold leaf tastes exquisite. Plus I would have hours of fun afterwards sifting through ash to pick out the diamond bits

Just curious about the reincarnated Sherpa - does it still say "limited reserve lot 132" on the label ?
