Hey sailor, I've posted here and have never asked anything of anybody, but today I've had to put my buddy down and its tearing me apart. Crying I figure you would understand

15 years of being my companion, and my buddy got a cancer that has taken him from me.

I figure you might understand what it means to have to do the deed to him...

If everyone could smoke a good one for him. He deserved it as he was a loyal and faithful friend.

Thank you

Will smoke a good one for your buddy. My herf buddy passed a few years ago. She would put her head on my knee and wait for me to blow smoke in her face. She would turn, sneeze and put her head back on my knee waiting for me to do it again. X

Sorry to hear that, Pliny. I’m working tonight and did not bring a smoke with me. I shall render the proper “smoke salute” when time permits. What was puppy dog’s name?

Incidentally, I haven't had to put a pet down, yet... but the cat is 19.

My condolences, hard to do, but the right thing to do. When it is their time it is the kindest thing you can do. As your namesake said, from the end spring new beginnings.

Sorry for your loss Pliney. And yours too Jespear and RMAN.

Had to put my boy down less than 2 years ago. Rottweiler/shepard mix.
My constant companion and wrestling pal. The house isn't the same without him.

Had a mobile service come to the house and do the deed. Laying with him in front of the fireplace
where we spent many an evening. First injection, you could see his pain easing, and he licked my face.
Second one, he was gone within seconds. They waited outside for me. I carried him out later.

Highly recommend the mobile service if you can do it. Wasn't much more than the regular service.
And so much nicer having him at home.

Smoking a good one tonight for all of you

Ok - the smoke got deferred due to the sh/t weather. Tonight. Smoking a Perdomo Barrel Aged maduro. A fitting smoke for our pooches that have crossed over. Toast to all

Responding only to the original post and previous one about Thor.
Reading back through the thread, I see a number of you have lost a buddy.
My condolences. Never intend to omit anyone
