I was gonna do the same, but when I pulled the crock pot out, I found a big crack in the ceramic.

Don't feel like watching it cook in the cast iron dutch oven on the stove, so will need to postpone.

Someone about a quarter mile down the road did this. He trucked in several semi trailers full of crushed asphalt and filled in/raised his yard several feet.

Not sure how that's gonna work out in the long term though.

It'll work a lot dryer than it does for you. Unless he has to dig, then it'll suck bigtime

Hey! I'm retired and don't have any chicken poop to scoop. I'm too tired and pooped to scoop poop.

Ground here is all clay. At least under the muck it's clay.

Digging anything substantial by hand is impossible. If it's dry, you need a pickaxe. If it's wet, you can't get the scoop off your shovel. Even with a skidloader it's a PITA. Sticky but slippery, can't get traction and can't dump the bucket.

I need to move.

I put a few semi truck loads of black dirt down when I was rebuilding the house. Ended up being about a 6" layer over the front, side, and part of the back yard over the front two acres. Helped me grow grass after re grading the property, but most if not all of the black dirt has washed away over the last ten years.

Ok - gear up for one last PITA. Dig and install a lift station, pump the water over to gravel guy, and put in turf. No more flooding or mowing and you don't have to pretend to be nice to your neighbor because he won't like you anyway.

Clay sucks - you need to work on drainage.

Remember when 'rubbers' was synonymous with 'overshoes'?

Remember overshoes? Old man used to keep a pair in his brief case.....can't recall seeing any for about 45 years, tho

Mom's eyesight isn't what it used to be... And the filter busted a few days back and the pool went straight to swamp color... So I guess it's excusable...
