Beer coolers stocked. No ice, it's 52 degrees right now so I'll leave the lids open and let em chill in the air overnight before putting on ice.

Herf a dor packed with 8 good smokes. Will probably load up a second for mooch gars, there's always one or two.

Food's finalized, no more thinking about it till cooking time.

Got the big generator in my truck. Wife even helped me push it up the ramps.

All that's left is to load the pitbike, and hitch up.

They're inside the camper.

Should be safe.

Edit: beers are in the camper. Raccoons (usually) stay outside.

Raccoon getting in the camper is how I got it for free though.

Rain was coming through the ceiling in the kitchen again. Had to go up on the roof and clear the downspouts in a thunderstorm. Now I'm wet and cold and I've got a pot on the floor of the kitchen catching the drippings.

Living the high life.

At least I've got a pot to catch the rain in the house.

I'm ready for bed but I'm too worried the power gonna go out again. Setting up camp on the basement floor to wake me when it's time for the generator.

I hate this. Leaving in 12 hours and more storms daily. Got everything off the basement floor on buckets and milk crates and Rubbermaid totes.

I need to move.

Airbag replacement today. The Takata, face full of metal shards funbags. I'm ugly enough now.

Visit dad in the hospital, get a breakfast burrito. Arsenal tries to salvage their season today in Baku. After that, farmers market- weather permitting.

MACS, you've gone country, I don't think there is a cure. At least it isn't Barry Manilow music.

Morning everyone. I'm finally done with the move!!! Upsized the house, downsized my belongings. 50 and over community. Nice and quiet. No outside chores, well maintained, nice amenities. About 25 minutes to work.

Woke up to hail and heavy rain about 1:30 am... Had a roofer looking at damage last Saturday. Haven't heard from the adjuster yet... If he wasn't gonna find enough damage to approve before may he will now... Mellow

Well I screwed up. I knew better and most of the camper fridge I put meat on the back side of the shelves but one shelf with lettuce n eggs were touching the back of the fridge and froze.

Gotta go do one more grocery run.

They're not old enough to lay yet. Only even been outside about a week now.

This is the first time I've bought eggs in 9 years. Store eggs are TINY.

Had hailstorm in 16. Little viz damage that I could tell. Roof was 23 yrs old. Ended up getting roof and siding, and contractor ate my deductible. Good deal.....except that it took two full years before all the wrangling was complete...between, ins co, third party adjusters, and the contractor

Most important lesson, however. Do NOT make color choices without consulting the wife.

I tried to sorta match existing colors on my own so I wouldn't have to go through HOA.....big mistake I may not ever live down

Decades ago, I read a quip (prolly Readers Digest or Playboy or Mad....IDK) that stuck with me....was finally able to use it today for the first time

Was walking into a building this morning a few feet ahead of a scowling woman. As I held the door and waited for her to pass, she said "You don't need to hold the door for me because I'm a lady." I said, "I'm not holding it because you're a lady. I'm holding it because I am a gentleman."

Don't think it registered with her even a little bit, but I was glad to finally use it after 30 plus years of waiting

Read a different sort of truth kernel today....

A 10 year old girl asks her mom, "Mommy, how was I born?"

The mother smiled and replied: "Once upon a time, me and your daddy decided to plant a wonderful little seed. Daddy put it in the earth and I took care of it every single day. After a while the seed started to grow more and more leaves and in a few months, it turned into a beautiful healthy plant. So we took the plant, dried it, smoked it and go so high that we fuqued without a condom."

Made it safely to Michigan.

Campsite is set up. Camper's parked right on hot pit lane, gonna have to watch my step coming outside when track is hot.

Plugged into the timing tower's outlet so at least I don't have to constantly run generator for the fridge. Do need the generator for coffee maker, griddle, smoker, and microwave. Other than the smoker, won't need to run it for hours on end. Hopefully I can use that outlet all weekend.

Weather's cold n grey. Probably gonna rain.

So with no power options other than generators, there's a line of 10 campers plugged into 5 big gas generators. It's LOUD...

Only one person has an inverter generator. A harbor freight predator 3500. I really like that generator. Super quiet and can run AC. I want one. They're fairly cheap too, bout $700. The noisemaker generators are half that and can run two ACs though.
