Al, I would recommend that you do some research on Keto or low carb. There are hundreds of stories of people who have cured their type 2 diabetes by going low carb. My wife had hypoglycemia, and diabetes runs in her family. Since going Keto, her doctor says that her blood sugar is now normal, and she no longer has hypoglycemia. Her blood pressure lowered from the 170s to the 110s. I was pre-diabetic, had insulin resistance, my blood pressure was in the 160s, and 2 years ago I was crippled with a muscle disease and arthritis. I could only walk by shuffling my feet, stairs where next to impossible, and I could not kneel or get on my knees. I went clean Keto in October 2018. My blood pressure is now in the 120s, my blood sugar is now normal, and the pain in my legs is completely gone. Even though X-Rays showed advance arthritis in my knees, I have no knee pain, and just put down 1,000 sq. ft. of flooring for my daughter, along with all new baseboards. Yesterday I was working all day off of extension ladders with no problems. Plus no more getting up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom (I was getting up 2 to 3 times a night). I'm 62 years old BTW.
Oh, and the fast worked wonders. I'm down 4 lbs., my cravings are gone, and I have increased mental clarity. I broke my fast with a small Keto meal around 9 PM last night, and am not the least bit hungry.
I'm not trying to proselytize you. Just passing on our experience.
