What's the most surprising thing you've ever tasted from a cigar? I just pulled an an EP Carrillo with a good 8 years on it and the unlit flavour was dry rice crispies. It drove me crazy for a few minutes trying to place it . Once I did though it kinda caught me off guard. Anyone else surprised by a flavor they picked up from a lit or unlit cigar. I think this is a Seleccion Oscuro.

Edit: I turned up the light and realized I was wrong, it's the Maduro robusto. I have both in there but oddly the light from my laptop made the wrapper appear a bit lighter and slightly mottled.

Room 101 Chief Cool Arrow. Unlit smell is orange-infused chocolate. Not subtle, either. Very strong and very distinctly, definitely and immediately recognizable as orange-chocolate.

Lit, some orange-chocolate was in the smoke and flavor, too, very delicious and impressive.

But wow, open the box, stick your nose in there, inhale. Reeks of orange-chocolate.

Quite amazing, never experienced anything like it before. I love it! So glad I backed the truck up and absolutely loaded up on those boxes before they disappeared (presumably forever, as it was a one-time 2016 limited release).

Actually the Filero(kee) size is still available at the MB3 place. They're small, but very good. If you get any though, do NOT smoke them on rainy or humid days, and you MUST smoke them very slowly. Something about their small size demands slowness, or they turn bad. "Sip" the smoke with long rests between on a dry day and they're excellent though!

In the 2019 Spring Mystery Cigars With a Twist organized by danm, I was the recipient of 3 unbanded cigars from danm himself. When smoking one I got the flavor of licorice NECCO Wafers...it took me a while to pinpoint the flavor, but that's what I was getting from it....
When danm identified the cigar it was a "#2 Midrange PSD 4 cc - explains the unique flavor note. This was a fresh box from last fall. " Anyway, that was a new flavor to my uninformed N00B palate, and I loved it....gotta try to get me some of these to make sure it wasn't a fluke....very tasty, unique flavorHerfing
