ICE planned a surprise raid on millions of illegal immigrants...

Trump announces the surprise raid a week ahead of time...

Trump then tells ICE to stand down to give Congress yet another chance to do SOMETHING - ANYTHING!

This versus the Obama approach, which was "here Mr illegal immigrant, put your head in this guillotine, don't move, and i promise not to let the blade fall... But you gotta keep your head there..."

Not hard to tell who has more compassion for our friends to the south...

that's the new way to conduct domestic and foreign policy in the US...turn it into a Jerry Springer-like "reality TV show" threat-a-thon where POTUS pronouncements carry little more weight than guys spouting off on the street corner...we're at a point where everything our President says has questionable value and about 40% of the people are OK with that and laugh at the other 60% who are saying WTH?

as if ICE initiated the "planned raids"...

Trump taking credit for calling off the strikes on IRAN is funny(actually a really good idea...nothing good would've happened afterwards, except a few cons clamoring for war would've gotten some relief from blue balls)

kinda like the guy who has an argument with his neighbor, cuts off his utilities, stops the grocery deliveries and throws gasoline on his house...when the neighbor objects and throws a few rocks, he is the big man who says "I'm not gonna throw a match over there"

You're only manipulated if you allow yourself to be. If the libs take any bait from Trump it's their fault. Personally I think he is beating them at their own game. Most of his tweets are off the hook WTF things. But I think they are calculated. We shall see. You don't suppose ICE did any recon work prior to the announced raids that were then delayed do you?

I'm ok with it and I'll tell you why...

We've tried the Republican way...

We've tried the Democrat way...

The result?

The current status of immigration laws and their enforcement would be laughable if not for the lives of millions of illegal immigrants kept in perpetual limbo and entrapped by a tolerated form of pseudo-slavery by politicians on both sides of the political aisle...

I'm ok with trying something different... I'm ok with trying something seemingly absurd... I'm ok with President Jimmy Morales... I'm ok with President Volodymyr Zelenskiy...

Politics is broken... More Obama's or Clinton's or Bush's or fill-in-the-political-for-money family isnt gonna fix it...

Some idiot from tv probably won't fix anything either but at least the absurdity of it all can be on full display instead of hidden behind a false demeanor of sophistication and class...

The emperor has a new pair of clothes and i think they look splendid...

I punched Opel in the face but really didn’t but I am tough because I punched him in the face even though I really didn’t.

The ration of chocolate went up from 2oz to 1oz. You are welcome.

Obama separates kids from parents and put the kids in cages. Trump didn’t do anything different so what’s the big deal. Although he’s much tougher on these folks than Obama was. He does things much different than Obama.

How bout a Fresca?

at one time, truth and honesty to the American public was considered an essential trait for the highest offices of the land...cons were outraged when Obama said things that didn't pan out..."red line" and "you can keep your doctor" will be remembered, and frequently trotted out, as con epithets who demanded truth from a Dem POTUS...

there is a difference between "didn't pan out" and intentional misstatements...

glad our medical practitioners and public safety personnel don't play that game...wait...isn't the POTUS the top public safety official of this country?

When Obama said "if you like your Dr. you can keep your Dr", he knew he was spewing fertilizer....."If you want to find out what's in it you have to sign it first"...now that was the truth...d'oh!

You mean back when the people who held the highest offices of the land owned black people or back when the people who held the highest offices of the land rounded up your people and threw them into camps? Either way, a little honesty from politicians to the American people doesn't make me pine for those good ol days...

was referring more to the period from the early 70's to the late 1990's when two presidents were impeached for, among other things, lying...

Our intel folks are all wrong and you can’t believe a thing they say about murders in embassies, misc Russian actions in Syria and other places, rocket mans actions, our allies actions, etc. but you must believe them when they say Iran mines got tankers and our drone was definitely shot down by Iran and was definitely in international waters.

This is when the orange little boys wolf cries have consequences.

So 20 years... out of 200+... That's a pretty narrow window... And also, that 2 presidents were impeached is actually evidence that honesty in politicians wasn't valued... They still got elected... Their dishonesty was just less tolerated...

Actually the you can keep your doctor was true in the vast majority of situations. It was was only not true is situations where you chose a network they were not in or dropped out. It was particularly not true when you got no choice of network. It was was always more true than the death panel crap.

Meh. Whenever we bought another company we always said there would be no disruption in services. There always was. I always predicted there would be. It was wishful thinking that never panned out. And I hated it.

But that’s different to me than saying the sky is yellow and the sun is blue.

And Barry sucks.

If you think the deceit and bald faced lying we are seeing today is not a departure from usual then we will just need to agree to disagree.

Politicians have always been scummy and less than truthful. But this is a whole new level and breaking what would not have been tolerated a couple years ago.

It’s fun to hear the he’s no different response woven in with the he’s so different response.

the rest of the history was especially despicable, from my POV, but the leaders were open and honest in some regards enacting laws to codify those racist practices...

your point that Trump is not much different from how leaders behaved, and is acceptable, and the public's expectations of leaders should change because politics is broken is like saying, "we're sick so we should take daily doses of arsenic"

Politics are much like the discussions in these forums. No one works together. On the other hand, finger pointing and my-side-is-better is the poison du jour. Bon Appetite

It used to not be that way abrig. Both sides had ideas, could articulate them and compromise got a larger percentage of the majorities ideas through as well as a smaller percentage of the minority.

No both sides are void of ideas. The only idea is beat the other side at all cost and compromise is evil. Sprinkle in all out lies are now ok when in the past at least you needed to keep a straight face and things are different.

This abomination should never be accepted but folks sure are accepting it.

Well, Laura says:

Fox News host Laura Ingraham blasted House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for "using children to get her way" in regards to illegal immigration.

"Note her typical emotional ploy, using children to get her way. Except when she wants their lives ended," Ingraham said on "The Ingraham Angle" Monday in response to a clip of Pelosi taking credit for delaying President Trump's ICE raids.

"When I spoke to the President, I said 'Look, I'm a mom, I have five kids, seven, nine grandchildren and children are scared,'"Pelosi said Monday in New York.

"No one wants any child ever to be afraid, ever. It is tragic, and it really shouldn't happen. And kids of American criminals, they suffer here too because of the mistakes of their parents. And parents coming illegally, again tragic but now comes the consequences for the whole family sometimes. Or at least there should be consequences if the rule of law means anything," Ingraham told her audience.

The host criticized Pelosi for not taking care of American citizens first and used San Francisco as an example.

"Nancy doesn't need to go far, does she, from San Francisco to see suffering and desperation. We have seen all those stories. Maybe she should focus on fixing that before throwing rocks," Ingraham said.

Ingraham also blasted Democrats for remaining silent on the issue when former President Obama faced the same accusations.

"But where were the Democrats? Where were their outrage before Trump came into office?" Ingram said before playing a clip of Obama.

"Do not send your children to the borders. If they do make it, they will get sent back, more importantly, they may not make it," President Obama said in 2014 interview with ABC News.

Ingraham blasted the media, Democrats and Pelosi for misleading the public.

"Now, do any of you remember Nancy Pelosi firing off angry tweets in demanding a change in Obama policy or criticizing these allegedly inhumane conditions?" Ingraham said.

"Don't be deceived by the media coverage where the motive images you are seeing because it happened years ago and the Democrats were silent."

Is trumps plan working? Was it really his plan?

He spoils the surprise ice raid... Then postpones the ice raid, giving the people who are actually in charge of immigration a chance to do something...

Senate just passed an immigration bill 84-8... I don't know what's in it (I assume we have to pass it in the house first) but 84-8 seems bipartisan...
