Boo hoo!

Jim beam warehouse (NEAR THE WOODFORD/ FRANKLIN COUNTY LINE) filled with bourbon
Has burned for 4 days...
Massive Fishkill from the bourbon spilling into a nearby river....a 23 mile plume of bourbon is killing thousands of fish...

It was 1% of Jim beam inventory...but BEAM OFFICIALS SAID "Don't worry about shortages...the stuff in the warehouse was a relatively young in age stock"

Sad sad story...

Well that's a sad story.

Poor drunken fishies

At least the bourbon was too young to care about.

If it was in the White Label stage, there is no loss here.

If they have to build a new warehouse, you know that cost will be passed on. And even if they don’t, it’ll be a good excuse to increase prices anyway.

That's true.
They had a fire @ Beam 7 or 8 years ago too. They need a new fire safety officer.
Fire Marshall Bill maybe.

Competition will keep them from raising prices. And my guess is they have insurance.

Was told on a tour of the distillery that the same mash bill was used for the white label and Knob Creek. Only difference was the time in the barrel.

Not a fan of the white label but do love me some Knob Creek from time to time.

It doesn't matter how young it was except for the fact it will affect supplies at whatever date they were going to age it to. They will never be able to fill that slot. If this was planned to be aged into a knob creek then the loss is not replaceable. If it was only to be aged a couple years then the missing supply will pass through the system shortly but the shortage will affect something.
