Anybody ever hear of a type of pine tree called an uncle foggy? Our new place has a tree growing out front that has pine needles but grows sideways rather than up. We looked it up and it appears to be an uncle foggy. Weird.

Probed about half the butts to check temps and tenderness. My probe glides right in but gets a little tight in the middles. Temps are done, but need the butts to loosen up just a little more. Gonna give it another 40 minutes on the heat, then wrap and stick in coolers.

Didn't foil on the heat, probably should have, but I never do so I don't wanna experiment here and now. Would have if I was time crunched but there's still 4.5 hours till serving time.

HELP!!! I think I'm a lesbian trapped in a man's body...Think

That’s a strange place to keep your lesbian. I keep mine in my closet like everyone else.
I know, big closet..

Love me some mountain thunderstorms. The temperature went from 90° to 70° in 10 minutes. Great cigar weather on the patio now.

They were kinda hard to get off the grates. Fell apart in my hands when I was pulling them out.

It's also delicious.

I think I did okay for my first time smoking on charcoal and in such huge quantity. Learned things that'll make it better next year.

Now for the really hard part: serving. I've been working all day setting up an assembly line for it. In 20 minutes I'm making an announcement over the loudspeakers to find volunteers. Start shredding at 1730, serving officially starts at 7 with announcement but I'm quietly opening at 1800.

195 is plenty if you're shredding but going a little higher won't hurt... it'll just make the butts fall apart while you're trying to take them off the grate. Wink

Interesting day... some good, some real bad... got the boat my son and i have been working on for about year in da water... needs a little fine tuning but it runs and floats.. wife went on a poker-run with 6 friends... they were all having a good time until we got the news... a good friend of ours jumped off a boat dock to retrieve his hat and never surfaced... he was a good man... Sad

Sunday Sunday Sunday

Hi Ram

Last night got a little wild. Done working for the weekend once everyone was served (about 100 plates worth leftover). Hung out with a hundred buddies and drank way too many beers. Good times

Today may be the end of a heat wave here after 5 days, but another may be coming this week.
WE need some rain too.

Good morning, y’all. Back from a few days in South Florida and several more in the Caribbean sun. I’m exhausted and my liver is no longer speaking to me.

What did I miss?

Meh... the dog is acting like a dog. Give the treat with the ghost pepper to the owner that won't train his dog, and leaves him outside to bark all day.

Besides... pepper spray or bear spray would suffice. The dog can't bark if it's busy sneezing.

Still... I blame the owner.
