Good morning, y’all. Back from a few days in South Florida and several more in the Caribbean sun. I’m exhausted and my liver is no longer speaking to me.

What did I miss?

So it isn't hot enough In Bama, you have to go further south?

It was glorious. Word on the street is the heat index in BHM was 109° for a couple of days, so I went to the tropics to cool off. Gonz

Towed camper home, truck did fine until about 5 miles from home started shifting weird.

Took a tray of leftover pork and a couple packs of buns to work, I don't need 30lbs of pulled pork. Shifting got noticeably worse on that drive, without load. I'll take it in tomorrow.

Meh... the dog is acting like a dog. Give the treat with the ghost pepper to the owner that won't train his dog, and leaves him outside to bark all day.

Besides... pepper spray or bear spray would suffice. The dog can't bark if it's busy sneezing.

Still... I blame the owner.

Right there with you... I love dogs... Even this dog... But he got me in a bad mood this morning...

My guess is he was trying to tell his owner that 104 degrees is too hot for a dog to be outside...

That happened in GB last weekend. A neighborhood dog was barking incecently- which was abnormal per the neighbors. Cops did a welfare check. The 52 year old own was dead on the kitchen floor.

Went under the truck and can see tranny fluid sprayed in an arc on the underside of my truck.

Looks like the tranny's leaking out of its rear seal where the shaft goes in, and then the fluid gets flung by the u joint.

Taking it back to Kelly the trans dude in the morning. Hopefully he warranties it. If not, hopefully it can be done without dropping the trans.

Maybe I should go 5 hours north to Canada and avoid winter.

If you plug it, the shaft won't be able to go in. That makes the truck inoperable.

Just needs a new rubber ring that goes around the shaft at the rear tranny hole.

Morning. I would say good morning, but nothings good about 112-114. Gotta get out early while it's only 90.

Annual check up, blood tests and X-rays to follow.

Hey Ram, folks...
Back home from a busy errand morning: Blood-work for my annual check-up (9 vials of blood!); post office; and to pick up a check for a research survey I participated in. It was blind testing of toothpastes. Some were good others weren't. I'd do it again for the $100.

Dropped off the truck first thing this morning. Tranny guy thinks it's a bigger issue than the fluid leak after telling him all the symptoms. It drags the shift 1-2 and then quickly goes 2-3. But then slowing down it doesn't always do 3-2-1 and hangs in 3rd for a minute till you've rolled a bit, then it goes to first. Told him when the fluid is full, it seems to be fine. But a half quart down I have the issues. He doesn't think a half quart should be enough to cause problems and might need to pull it open again....

Mowed the lawn, heading to the bank in a few to close on a HELOC, then nothing else planned for the day. It's already 90° and humid, soaked through my clothes just mowing the lawn.

hah...you ever go to the Original Tommy's on Beverly and Rampart near downtown L.A.? open 24/7 since it opened...went there often in my youth, many times while drunk ... I heard that they've never emptied and cleaned the pots that they cook the chili in...might have some chili crust from the 50's at the bottom of those things...
