I finally broke down and bought one. Anyone have some tips, suggestions, etc that they would like to tell me?

Setup?
Humidification solutions?
Anything else.

Don't know much about the unit but if controls allow 68F @ 63% I think you'll be quite pleased with the results.I keep my sticks 63% or below but this time of year keeping that temp under 75F is almost impossible for my setup.

Holy cow. Had to look that up. Don't think I paid much more for my old school 3000 count humi here, although that was a few years ago, and I live in a marine environment that is north of Seattle, so heat isn't a long-standing problem (we usually run a little bit cooler than Seattle on hot days, but newscasters start warning people how to stay cool around here every...damned...year when it heads north of 85 degrees). Other than suggesting you move here so you can get more humi for your money, sorry to say I cannot help. Looks like a quality unit, however.

I've got the CC-100H (same as yours except smaller). I keep mine at 68f and have ten 60g 72% boveda packs in it. I was using the 69% packs but I noticed it was having a hard time maintaining humidity since I was in it at least once a day. I also noticed the top drawer would always be a little lower in humidity than the lower trays. So I have 4 packs in the top drawer and 2 on each shelf below and that is working good now. It holds temp like champ. If you have any other questions lmk. I've been very pleased with mine thus far. My only complaint is I wish I would have got yours instead lol.

Nope. No real need for that here in Florida.

For sure. The heat capable units also come with a lock and key.

I have a new air 281 with drawers I got from forest. Had it for about 3-4 years. Here's what I do that works for me.

The bottoms has a longer false front drawer so under the cigars I have a dollar store cookie sheet with Kitty liter. this usually gets sprayed down once or twice a year. The top also has about a 1# sac of kitty litter in a Tupperware small box between. Polar vortexs tend to be dry but I never bothered to take it out. 2/4 trays have a jar and beads and 6-7 boveda packs. I'm unsure if they are necessary, but after I consolidated 6+7 small desktops, I didn't want to waste any of that. All bovedas are 65. So my end result is that during spring/summer I am around 65-66. Never seen higher. Winter dry months are 63-64. Never seen lower. Am I overkilling with bovedas and Crystal jars? Probably. But they are in spots that don't really hurt my capacity. Plus the bovedas rest on top of the smokes and are my fail safe. I may purchase a new one every 4-6 months Incase I need to replace, but I have yet to have one go dry. I maybe look to replace the kitty litter with a 320 gram boveda in the bottom, but since it's not broke....

Some side info, I keep the humidor in my basement now. It's not even plugged since the temp is around the mid 60s. The 2-3 point swings in humity with the seasons is just typical of Chicagoland weather.

Initially seaaonsed for 3-5 days with bowls of DW, use 2 hygrometers one low one on the highest shelf a bit over half way up. Love the set up, just not paying for it. But I think I pulled it off in the 300$ ballpark too

Awesome info yaro. I cleaned it out and now have a pound of 65% Heartfelt Beads in the bottom. It is sitting at 69/68 straight out of the box. Going to put some more beads in tonight (up top). I plan to populate it before I leave for Hawaii again on Saturday.

David,
Looks like a nice set up but how many will it actually hold? My experience with humidors is they typically hold about half of what they claim due to packaging/box storage, etc. Think I would need 4-5 of those.

nice. with a good 2 way system like that, i would add water for the shelves to get acclimated faster for a day and then remove and let the beads do thier thing. they are always on my to order list, but honestly the KL has yet to fail me so the heartfelt hasnt been necessary, and while they arent a high cost, the shipping kills it for me. in a bowl on a plate. also check if yours has a drain hole. the new air i had was meant for wine so it had a drain for condensation. some ppl said to silicone it off. others made plugs with electrical tape and jammed it in there. i didnt bother, mostly since i havent plugged it in in years but if you have a leak or swings, that could be a source.

i dont know how the specific humidor fridges vary from their fridges, so you may not even have a drain plug.

youre gonna love it man. the handle doubles as my officiating credentials collection and the door has become a sticker pit for some cigar/usa wrestling stuff.

i counted about 290-301 loose smokes in drawes of various sizes, and then i had a 5-6 boxes (lp9 robbie, tat miama robbie, hdmee 10 ct., hemigway, tat pudgy monsters, 12 honest men d maybe 1 more.

but yeah i still have a large tupperdoor underneath, and a few humijars. now those i love for 15 bucks for a humidor.

I am sitting in the 300 range so I think mine should fit. I have some boxes but lots of singles hanging around. Big thing is I will be able to get rid of the coolerdor. With that gone I have two small humidors and one med/large humidor. I might take one into work.
