Assuming you had to manage one of the dem candidates and your goal was to give yourself the best shot of winning both the Democratic nod and the big race, who's your pony, why, and what changes are you gonna make to your candidate, minus shooting them in the head and replacing them with someone better?

Biden? I cant see a return to old white career politicians being the answer to anyone's problems... And also there's the numerous videos...

Bernie scares a lot of people on both sides I think... Besides clearly being a lunatic, his extremist policies make him seem like he'd gladly become a dictator for the good of the nation...

Buttgeiger? Is he still running? I think the last name combined with his sexual preference puts him in the DOA category, but i could be wrong... Maybe America's matured... I haven't...

Kamalalala ding dong is an absolute monster of a human being....

Pocahontas would be fun to watch...

The broad from the islands seems like a firecracker... Never seen her or heard her speak, just read what she had to say to ding dong... Impressive.... She'd be my pick and I'd make sure she never mentioned trump or any fellow candidates name or policies again...

I would pick Castro because his "stock" is on the rise. Although he won't be the Dem's choice this time, we will be seeing a lot more of him in years to come.

My first thought was about Bernie because I agree with some of his policies and he has beaten Trump in every single presidential poll taken since 2016 (don’t quote me on that), but then I figured he would probably try to pay me $15 bucks an hour so I said, screw that.

Biden, Kamala, and Bootiepeg are all still taking Wall Street money, right? I could make some serious bank with those peeps.

Opel's description of Bernie sounds like he's describing Trump...

I'm going with the opposite of Trump...an Asian who knows math...Andrew Yang...

before you dismiss him, listen to his discussions about the state of America and what details he'd emphasize to fix things...

he still has no chance, tho...but if Trump won with a guy like Manafort running his campaign...I got a shot...

if only I knew some Russians...

He did lose one...Rasmussen Reports.

General Election Polls: Trump vs. Sanders
https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2020/president/us/general_election_trump_vs_sanders-6250.html

To be fair, Hillary Clinton received a few million more votes than Trump and there are a few Democratic candidates that are more widely accepted than her.

Bernie. No one else would even be close. He knows his message and stays with it and the fact that most hard right Conservatives call him a lunatic means he must be doing something right. I believe Bernie will ultimately be the Dem pick...provided they don't screw him again

You don't think many moderates view him as "too socialist"?

And to be fair to the "hard right" I think they call him a lunatic because he a) looks like a stark raving mad lunatic and b) he gets caught on video doing things like praising bread lines...

Yes...they do. As far as his ranting. He's an angry old New York Jew. Watch videos of him from the 80's. 40 years ago he looked like an angry old New York Jew. The Millennials LOVE Bernie and they learned their lesson in 2016.

As far as "praising bread lines", I suppose if you see that on some nutjob right wing wacko website with no context at all, I could see that. Those people would never vote for someone like Sanders anyway so who cares?

You say right wing wacko website in a way that insinuates you've forgotten how badly the liberal media wanted Hilldog to win against Sandbag...

Oh I haven't forgotten. I see the consequences every single day. That bitch, the DNC, and the liberal media f*cked this country hard by just making the assumption that she WAS going to be the next President. Sanders would have beaten Trump. Sanders can still beat Trump. Sanders can deflect Trump's nonsense like a mosquito and would whip Trump in a debate. I'd LOVE to see that debate

Ya man... I don't really like Bernie but the prospect of him as president doesn't scare me... Unless he ends up with some creepy vp... Bernie probably wouldn't survive a full term...

Here's my take on Bernie......we WILL have Universal Healthcare some day. We will have a lot of the things Bernie and the others are talking about. But not in Bernie's life time. He knows that. Bernie is trying to get the ball rolling and get the country on the path he (and a lot of other people) believes it needs to be on. Get rid of Citizens United, get money out of elections, start deprofitizing healthcare, etc. His vp pick would be very interesting. If I had to guess right now, it will be Mayor Pete or Kamala Harris. My dark horse money would be on someone like Stacey Abrams out of Georgia. Young, black, female, brilliant.

I don’t consider Bernie a viable candidate. Then again Trump was a joke and non viable candidate and he pull d it off like Carrie at homecoming. Now folks who pretended to not like trump suck his carrot daily to the point of absurdity so what do I know.

The Bernie VP pick would be a crucial aspect of his campaign because of his age (Trump is only a few years younger), and I don’t see him choosing someone who takes Wall Street/PAC money as his running mate. It goes against his values and hardcore Bernie people would lose their chit. I could be wrong...

My short list of Bernie VP guesses: Elizabeth Warren, Nina Turner, Ro Khanna, Tulsi Gabbard, or someone from “The Squad?”

No matter who wins the Democratic primary they will be labeled as a socialist who wants open borders by Republicans. That is not something that should affect decision making.

I didn't know this was within the rules of the game. Then I'll take Elizabeth Warren and want her to be Native American...no way this could possibly backfire.

Yep and that's fine. Let them beat each other half to death and then someone else can steamroll Trump in November

The Dems don't have anybody (so far) that has a big enough personality to beat Trump. My prediction is either Biden or Bernie, and I think Warren will be the VP nominee no matter what. But there is another possibility. I honestly think it's possible that Trump will decide not to run again. If that happens, ANY of the Dem candidates could defeat Pence, cuz that dude is a mannequin with a stick up its a$$.

Absolutely none of it matters.
Doesn't matter if their "personality" is biig enough... Or if they're popular... Or smart...

The electoral college will almost guarantee a trump victory in 2020.
He will again lose the popular vote, that's a given... Against any of the candidates... But that doesn't matter a bit.

I disagree. If the Dems had a good candidate, they could win back most or even all of the states that flipped in 2016. But they don't have a good candidate. And big personality does matter. Look at Reagan vs. Carter. Reagan vs. Mondale. Clinton vs. Bush. Obama vs. McCain. Obama vs. Romney. Charisma wins votes. Trump won in 2016 for several reasons, but two of those reasons were hatred of Hillary and Hillary taking certain states for granted. If the Dems had a candidate that was more likeable than Hillary and more charismatic than Trump (as sh*tty as his charisma is), they could win in 2020. But they don't, and they won't.
