I get 4 days off... and what do I do?

Wake up about 25 minutes after I usually get up, and promptly call into work to see if they need help.

Who wants 12 hours of overtime??

Did that last night. Easy money. One patient slept all night, the other was well sedated on a vent.

Day 1 of 7 done. The next 6 I'm in charge of the circus so it won't be as easy.

I was thinking you were referring to some sort of recreational drug like dmt or something.

Nope, not on any hormone replacement.

Only drugs I take are stuff for gerd, alcohol, tobacco, and caffeine. Cut out the last three and I could avoid the first I'm sure.

Roof dude called and said he'd be by sometime today to measure but wife says she didn't see anyone. Though she can be oblivious to someone coming in the driveway and climbing on the roof so that's no guarantee.

Back to work. night two of seven.

$800 won't make a difference in my retirement date, but it'll damn sure pay for new tires for momma's car... and no dent in the savings.

$800 could shave at least a day. Maybe two. Unlike some of your guests, you can buy your way out days and eventually months early. Don't sell yourself, or your retirement short.

Counting down the days till both kids start school...

When we made the decision that I would stay home with the kids 6 years ago, I really expected I would be able to accomplish far more... Kids don't let you do anything...

I can sit outside and smoke a cigar, but it will be interrupted... noses will need wiped, bellies need filled, dishes and clothes need washed, floors need constant vacuuming; and when you've completed it all you turn around in astonishment and you wonder, if in fact, you've accomplished anything at all... For the nose - still runny... The belly - still in need of filling... The pile of dishes and laundry - bigger than ever... And whatever you just vacuumed - replaced with something that requires the shampooer be fetched...

It's an exercise in futility... I might as well be working on a perpetual motion machine...

6 days to go and then, I'm sure I'll miss it dearly...

They did a lumbar puncture yesterday and put chemo into the spinal fluid to try and kill the cancer cells .They will be putting a port in his head tomorrow or it could be Monday so that they can give him chemo twice a week. The odds are pretty low that he will survive but there is a chance . He is feeling better today.
