Yes, get some rest. You can't let yourself get burnout out- it will start affecting your health.

After 8 days in a row, I'm tired. Was sposeda be off tonight, but we're slammed at work. There's a gap from 7-11p so I filled it. If busy enough, I'll be doing the whole 12hrs.

Paycheck should get me a little closer to the roof. I'll have 36 to 44 hours of overtime pay for this week depending on tonight.

But, the next two weeks I only work one day. Might just balance out... got Gridlife ATL, towing a trailer of supplies down on Tuesday next week and won't be home till the following Tuesday. Scheduled to work that Thursday after I come home, then off another 6 days.

Just sent baby girl off to her First day of school...

As she was getting in the car she said "daddy, when I go off to college, am I gonna stay there for a few days?"

I told her we'd have to talk about that later... Kindergarten is hard enough... Crying

Have had empty nest for years. Best of luck, O. Wouldn't want to be back there for anything. Does she have a phone? I think dealing with kids and tech today would be maddening.
Just read a story about some kid tweeting from her smart refrigerator because her mom had taken her phone, DS, Wii, tablet, and I don't know what else away from her. Weird times

She's almost 5, boy is 6... They have phones in the sense that they have possession of our old phones... They can call 911 I think... They can use the Facebook app to video call me, My wife, or my sister in law... But the phones don't go to school... They only leave the house when the kids sleepover at grandma's house...

Ultimately, my kids use their phones for the same purposes most adults do... Playing games while they poop...

Boiled some water in the office today...figured I would have a little tea, since it's the early evening.

Saw a bag of coffee with thai writing on it... I thought "hey... that sounds like fun!".... for some dumb reason I assumed it was instant coffee and poured it in my cup.

I've since realized it was just coffee grounds. I am now just trying to filter these with my teeth as I drink.

I thought that was just because your wife found me so dreamy.... :)

Back to work.

One of the girls that picked up last night traded off 4 hours of tonight to do 8 last night, so I'm just gonna fill her hole till midnight and then go home.

Short n sweet. I'll change my oil and stuff tonight prepping for ATL.

Shoot out going on here in Philly, 6 officers wounded, not life threatening, watching on tv,seems like excessive show of police plus Swat is on site. Sure to make national news.

Just got home from the hospital pops ate a little at lunch and again at 5 this afternoon. He is going to be moved out of ICU tonight and hopefully get some chemo Friday in the port in his skull. He lost his cigarette today in the bed he quit smoking 20 years ago. He can come up with some random stuff right now.

And it appears he has a very optimistic outlook on his performance....

Living the Baby Boomer dream. Raising a kid and navigating the aging parent maze. Between the two of them over the last nine months....

-Totaled a truck, significant forearm lacerations and bruising.
-Kidney stones
-Heart attack
-Broken hip
-Thyroid surgery
-Cataract surgery
-A-Fib & heart shock back into rhythm

I think I'm missing one.

Can't kick the feeling that no matter what I do, I'm doing the wrong thing.

Brother 8, it's hard for me to believe it's been 12 years since I first met your mom and dad. Right after I retired, and just before I started the current gig.

I'm sorry to hear the process has been difficult for them. Love 'em both.

Corey, I am also sorry to hear what your pop is going through. I've avoided commenting up to this point because we've never met, barely interacted much here, and I didn't want to seem insincere.

Lost my mom back in '14, but it was not a protracted battle... she just gave up. I feel for ya brother.

No worries with Victor. We are good. One of the times we met up for a smoke a tornado touched down 20 miles away.

The struggling Christian and the Atheist together earned us the weather. Still remember the date. June 6, 2006.

Happy Thursday fellas.

Was a rough 4 hours, ran my ass off fixing things that were from pure negligence and incompetence.

Stopped at Wal-Mart on the way home. Lots of weird creatures there at midnight. Bring their kids with em too. Sad.

Got oil n filter and changed it on the truck when I got home.

Now got the rest of the night to myself. Tall pour of Eagle Rare, and a Fuente Rosado to start things off.

I think there's probably still a photo on here of our meeting...
If I recall correctly I am a blur in the background. Must have been a bad camera. Definitely wasn't anything to do with my inability to be photographed.

Gotta say 8.... I missed the part of your statement where you said "between the two of them"....
WTF did the kid do? He sure as hell better not be having a heart attack or cataract surgery... or a broken hip... or a-fib... or kidney stones... and he sure as hell better not have totaled a truck...

County shut down their drop off recycling locations.

Loaded up the truck to take ours in, got there and it was closed. All signs removed and everything. Website says they shut down all the recycling centers due to illegal dumping. Buncha asswholes ruined it for everyone.

If I want recycling at home, it's an additional $45 a mo, on top of the $120/mo I pay for garbage collection. Only one company services my area, so we get shafted. Probably half my neighbors don't have garbage collection. Some take it and dump behind stores and stuff, one guy burns everything, next door neighbor takes his to work, guy next to him piles it in his back yard.
