Are you an easy mark for a hockey bet?
I guess by that I mean, are you a Rangers fan?

welcome to the madhouse, William729...you've been greeted by one of the sanest guys here, and you're already questioning him...buckle up...

get ready to be told that you paid at least 2 times more for those cigars than they're worth...one guy'll tell you he paid about $6 for that sampler...most guys will tell you to start smoking better cigars...but to be honest, just about everybody here has smoked a number of Olivas: and some believe they make decent everyday smokes...

it's still about 50-50...

Welcome to the mad house! I've enjoyed all the Oliva I've tried except for maybe the Connecticut. Their maduro's are my fav for sure.

Don't let the vets scare you off. They will warm up to you eventually. Oh and you may need to answer some questions.

Nice to meet you, William. The Melanio Maduro and MB3 are probably tied for my favorite from Oliva. Welcome to the jungle.

Smoke as many different cigars as you can and keep track of what you like and what you don't. If everyone liked the same thing, then there wouldn't be a zillion different brands and components (fillers, binders, and wrappers).

And, as an FOG, GET OFF MY LAWN.

Olivas - I’m partial to the Serie G Maduros and the V series...but of course, ymmv.

In due time, visit the nOOb PIB thread and throw your hat into that ring.

Hi William. Welcome!

You might want to have a look at what has to be the best accessories deal on the site:

https://www.cigarbid.com...o-cutter-combo/3281758/

Xikar CigarLocker and XO, together, in a "Freefall" auction. The way they work is that the auction starts out at a high price, then slowly the price drops more and more, until it "resets" back up to the high starting price again. Whenever you click the "buy now" button, you've bought it at the currently-displayed price. The whole cycle only takes a couple of minutes, and repeats endlessly. If you watch a few cycles you can get a feel for the approximate lowest price where the reset will happen, and you can click "buy now" at the optimal moment, or nearly so.

I just watched this go down to $31.81 before resetting. Elsewhere, the CigarLocker usually goes for $50-60 or so, and the XO usually goes for $75-100 or so. So both for $32 is downright crazy.

Google them for details, but the CigarLocker is the best everyday carry cigar and accessories carrier I've ever found (I use mine constantly), and the XO is an excellent, top-of-the-line cutter.

They are also both Xikar products so they have Xikar's unlimited lifetime warranty. If ANYTHING EVER goes wrong with either of them (including dulled blades, problems that are only cosmetic, even stuff that's your fault, ANYTHING!), Xikar gives you new, free replacements. Repeatedly as needed. Forever, for the rest of your life. No proof of purchase or other paperwork ever needed. It's unreal, it's so good. And yes, they DO live up to these promises, I've gotten free replacements a number of times over the years. The cool thing is, if your damaged item has been redesigned and improved since you got it, they'll send you the improved new version, and if it's been discontinued and replaced with an entirely new model, they'll send you that successor new model! So it's free upgrades for life too, not just replacements!

Just FYI if you want to snag a pair of totally sweet accessories for almost-free, here on CigarBid, that you'll get to enjoy forever. It's a great way to start in the cigar hobby!

Just to add to Pudding’s post, the locker combo is also available as a bid item in the Merchandise section (...filter it down to β€œOther” and it’ll be easier to find...). I recently got mine for $31.

Good Man and welcome. Some of the political discussions can get heated and personal.
The majority of the people here are knowledgeable and friendly.
Get in on one for the noob trade threads. It's a nice way to get started meeting and interacting with other members.

Go Rangers!! fog

I 2nd this. I use this EVERYDAY. Holds up to 10 52RG toro's in a second compartment with a seal on it. So you can access your other stuff without cracking the seal on your precious sticks hence keeping them humidified. It's now my full time staging humi. Also the big logo sticker on the top is somewhat rubberized so u can set things on top of it and they won't slide off easily. I think im a get a another for backup lol.

I have this Ashton version as backup, but my main one has a much larger non-Ashton 'sticky logo' on top. It runs the entire width of the unit between the latches, and is as tall as the latches, so it takes up about two-thirds of the entire lid. As you said, lay something on it, and it's very difficult to get it to slide off. I love it.

Next-level trick with the CigarLocker: go to an arts and crafts store and buy some foam, cut a piece to exactly fit that big side compartment, then make cutouts in the foam (using a Dremel or knife or whatever) for various additional accessories.

Result: three cutters or lighters on the non-slip foam pads on the upper tray, PLUS a bunch more things in form-fitting foam holes in the side compartment. Mine has a draw tool, cigar glue bottle, multiple diameters of punches, etc. Very awesome, big upgrade. All-in-one box, truly.

Nice! I've got my side compartment stuffed with a Cuban Crafters 80RG cutter, Xikar XO cutter, Colibri Daytona lighter, Vertigo Thunder lighter w/ punch and a Vertigo Poseidon lighter w/ punch. I don't have room for foam lol.

In the tray I have a PerfecDraw, PerfecRepair glue, Xikar Torch Bleeder/Screwdriver and random dark chocolates. :)

If I could somehow stuff some butane in there it would 100% perfect! LOL
