Universal's "The Hunt" isn't even out yet, but many are taking to Twitter to react to the film's trailer, calling it "beyond sick" and "disturbing."

"The Hunt," which initially was going to be titled "Red State vs. Blue State," is billed as a satire that follows wealthy thrill-seekers as they take a private jet to a five-star resort, where they embark on a “deeply rewarding” expedition that involves hunting down and killing "deplorables."

"Universal is releasing a horrific movie about hunting down people called The Hunt. They pulled the ads but they have not stopped its release. Absolutely irresponsible movie and fosters hate and killing of people who don’t believe the same as the hunters. Hollywood be shamed," a user wrote.

Another shared: "I just read a report on the movie “The Hunt” that comes out soon. this is why I can’t pick a side. A movie about rounding up a group of “deplorables” and HUNTING them is ok? Put all the gun laws on the books but we’re entertained by a movie about killing Trump supporters."

"The idea & trailer for The Hunt is disturbing. The fact it was done by the same people responsible for The Purge movies speaks of how much Hollywood believes & desires our nation to devolve into Civil War, chaos, & a place where only Leftist elites survive," a user tweeted.

"Universal is releasing a movie next month called 'The Hunt' that depicts Trump supporters being hunted down like animals. That is BEYOND sick," one user shared.
But can you imagine the outrage if this movie was about hunting liberals instead?

They would probably commit another mass shooting.

Universal Pictures told Fox News on Wednesday: "Out of sensitivity to the attention on the country’s recent shooting tragedies, Universal Pictures and the filmmakers of The Hunt have temporarily paused its marketing campaign and are reviewing materials as we move forward."

"The Hunt” stars Betty Gilpin, Ike Barinholtz and Hillary Swank and is scheduled to be released on Sept. 27.

So, Drafter.... practical question.

On facebook.... on twitter... on forums here and elsewhere... I see idiots on the right talk about how successful the right will be in any armed conflict with the left because they have all the guns.

How is this movie any different? Are you just upset because they have a bigger budget and can pay people to act out their masturbatory fantasy while you're left with a one photo facebook meme to jerk it to?

I saw a couple different ads a few times...never registered to me that there was a political slant....I just thought it was about hunting people....


Wasn't that ok when Hunger Games did it?

in hunger games it was those pesky libruls who wanted rights and stuff they were hunting or having kill each other for their amusement. so it was ok.

and in the purge, it was those pesky libruls who didnt' want to hunt criminals once a year or own guns they were hunting... so it was ok.

now they're upset.

I'm sure it'll be a reasonably dumb movie.

Would you prefer the deplorables be the evil people who are hunting the hero?

the sentence that seems out of place in that review/op ed is "They would probably commit another mass shooting." When was the last lib motivated mass shooting?

How many white supremacists have committed mass murders, killing how many people, just during Trump's reign? Seems that mass murder is the specialty of cons, especially those who embrace white supremacy...


The shooting at the the congressional ballgame barely counts because there were fine people from both parties on the field...so which mass murder was motivated by lib ideology?

I found this synopsis online a moment ago. Sounds like the original post misrepresented some of the aspects of this movie.

"Twelve strangers wake up in a clearing. They don't know where they are, or how they got there. They don't know they've been chosen... for a very specific purpose... The Hunt. In the shadow of a dark internet conspiracy theory, a group of globalist elites gathers for the very first time at a remote Manor House to hunt humans for sport. But the elites' master plan is about to be derailed because one of the hunted, Crystal (Betty Gilpin, GLOW), knows The Hunters' game better than they do. She turns the tables on the killers, picking them off, one by one, as she makes her way toward the mysterious woman (two-time Oscar (R) winner Hilary Swank) at the center of it all."

Sounds like the good/bad guys end up coming out on top. Who knows if the above is accurate as the movie doesn't come out until late September. YMMV Beer

I mean... I'd figure it was a reasonably accurate prediction of politics to come.... They're already killing foreigners in camps... I don't think we're talking a huge jump to hunting liberals with guns.

I would think the outrage should be from the party being depicted as homicidal killers.... I have no idea why you're panties are so wadded up on this.

The dayton shooter appears to be liberal. But that does not mean his motivation for the shooting was liberal ideology.

He didn't scream "for greenpeace" or say that he was defending us from the invasion of deplorables.

You may feel this is one-sided... but simply put, only one side has developed this ideology.
