Well, it wasn't all that sincere, Vic.

it was a political joke.

dude,no political jokes in the 500 thread

But I don't get the HR McCovey Cove .... ok I looked up the McCovey Cove reference. I'm assuming HR means homerun.[/h] =d>

(speaking of things going over people's heads)
I forgot . . . You're not much of a sports fan.

First oil change on wife's new car. Service interval is 12 months or 7500 miles. I'm at 6 months to the day, and 3600 miles. Just not comfortable going that long.

Big PITA to do. There's an underbelly tray with 9 bolts to remove and they're not all the same drive size.

I guess I understand the $50 oil change on them. Got 3 coupons for $50 oil change and tire rotation when I bought it. Took me about 30 minutes to do. 20 of that was messing with that belly tray.

Smoked pork tacos for dinner.

Got a small handful of habaneros from the garden. Normally have a ton on the plants by now but got almost nothing this year.

The Hobbs PD is defending the way they handled the situation, saying that they interviewed both the accuser and the accused, but did not make an arrest because THEY didn't witness the alleged groping.

Think WHAT ABOUT the SECURITY CAMERA FOOTAGE ?
Doesn't THAT count for anything ?

How hasn't just busted wide open on social media? Thought looking at a female was 2nd degree sexual assault.

If the rules have changed, word needs to get out.

Unless you start getting better gas mileage, you're looking at 35.

True true.

But last week's trip is (well, better be or I'm not doing it anymore) reimbursed. $535 in gas alone.

In all seriousness though, I'm present in these decisions on a daily basis at work.

If hospice is presented as an option, it's pretty much the best option we have at the moment. Sure we can drag things out, but in the end the outcome will not differ except that the family can spend time without tubes and monitors vs getting the loved one home and in their bed to pass peacefully.

I'm sorry you're going through this Corey, but I'm glad you made this decision.

MACS, 50 may be too early to retire. I retired at 47 and it was too early. Hang in there a while - prices keep rising and medical costs can really hurt the budget.

Finding the sweet spot. Am saving for retirement but will likely die at me desk. The whole work/life calibration is rough.
You never know how much time on the clock. Would like to hang it up, have a good ten yeRs and drop dead.

a friend was spending like crazy. two cigarette boats! no one needs one.
I asked if he was concerned about money for his old age.

He said "what if I die young? I never would have had these things."

So I said "what if you live?"

I know this is killing you, but having this time with him while he can consciously connect with you is absolutely amazing. Most don't have this opportunity. And having him at his home with you there is a blessing. How it should be.

I must admit . . . Having the honor of naming the 500 thread instilled a feeling of obligation to pay more attention to the posts.

Actually, I was 16 when I lost my virginity to my childhood sweetheart . . . who became my EX-wife 5 years later.

Hope everyone has a glorious Thursday.

Bringing about 100 pounds of fish home. Talkeetna today.

Massive Forrest fires closing roads and causing dense Smoke Advisory. Never seen anything like it. It took three days for the folks in the cabin next to us to travel the same road we did in three hours. We were lucky getting in and out.
