Don't even bother with this spoiled, entitled, brain washed Marxist. She has a 50.8% disapproval rating in her own district. Her approval rating is in the low 20s. Only 13% in her district say they will definitely vote for her in 2020, and out of all the money she has raised, only $1,538 has come from her district. She may be worshiped by many of the millennial Marxists, but the folk who's votes she actually has to win, don't like her.

She is in over her head, and had no business in Congress. If she wins a second term the people in her district deserve her. If this is the future of the Democratic party it will cease to exist, or should be renamed the Socialist non working freeloaders party.

But can you actually dispute what she said?

I'd be interested in hearing actual arguments for why she is wrong.... because the comment saying "we have the electoral college to protect us from ignorant people like her" is not a valid argument. We could easily say the electoral college unfortunately gives more weight to ignorant voters like the person making that comment

the agrarian economy, and all the imperfections that propped up the wealthy farm owners, that produced the 3/5th rule no longer exists...Americans can choose to live where ever they want and engage in a variety of occupations...agriculture is no longer the primary industry.... there are no outsized industries that are so important to the existence of the nation that we need an artificial manner to "equalize the representation" for folks who live in low population states...

but the reality is that there are too many low population states, and people who live in them enjoy their advantage and will effectively oppose any effort to create a more pure representative form of democracy...

as for AOC, I'll wager a fiver of good cigars that she'll be re-elected...any and all takers...

there'll be more like her and the rest of the "squad," as the millennials awaken politically and elect people who share their political values...

the change is coming, she is part of the first wave ... the old status quo can get outraged and name call as loudly as they want, but they will watch their era of dominance in American politics ebb...it's interesting to note that the status quo hung their futures on peeps like Cantor and Bachman, who exited the scene pretty quickly without leaving much of a mark...

She isn't anything special. Appears to be within the average intelligence range at least.

I find it hilarious that the same people who try to mock her for some lack of intelligence or complete craziness don't even blink when the orange menace demonstrates not only complete lack of intelligence, but a complete disinterest in gaining information.

She might become a good congressperson. She can learn a bit and act on it. But there's also a chance she'd just become a bernie sanders level politician.... Note, either of those two options still exceeds trumpenfurher's capabilities

she/Bachmann lasted longer than I thought (2 or 3 two year terms) ... what one thing will she claim as an accomplishment?

note: as an illustration of how the political landscape is changing, Ilhan Omar was elected in the neighboring district of Bachmann's....

true, but 10 years ago, did you think that a Muslim woman would get elected to the US Congress from any district in MN?

you don't have to answer that...10 years ago, NO ONE thought Trump would be POTUS...

While I think that's an accurate statement, I don't think the chosen one actually even believes for a second he's christian.

no... strike that... now that I typed it out, it actually occurs to me that he may have convinced himself over the past year that he is some sort of christian....

Omar’s district elected the first Muslim to congress over a decade ago. I don’t think it’s far feteched to think they would elect the first Muslim women.

What we need is more atheists in congress.

I don't want anyone who's decision making process has led them to "there's a giant benevolent sky being that if you pray to hard enough makes good things happen to your life".... to be in charge of our finances or military.

Hillary f**king lost because she was a sh*t candidate that 50% of everyday Americans hates, and she took a bunch of states for granted and never campaigned there.

The fact that she lost those states proves that the Electoral College system is working the way it is supposed to work. The only thing I think would improve it is if Electoral votes were awarded proportionally instead of winner-takes-all. Look at CA and TX. It is pretty much pointless for TX liberals to vote for president, and pretty much pointless for CA conservatives. If the Electoral votes were awarded proportionally to the popular vote, the results would be more representative of the citizens of the states.

The architects of this country were smart enough to design a system to protect a segment of the population defined by their work. People who give.

Today we've got liberals who want to dismantle that and cater to the sloven dead beats who refuse to work. People who take.

I must admit that I find your choice perplexing.

My thoughts exactly. This country is on the precipice of a vast change. One which will most likely relegate both parties to the dumpster of history. I believe the election of Trump and all the heated rhetoric happening right now is the death rattle of the old system. The Millennials and Gen Z are just waiting for the Boomers and Gen X to die so they can reform the country the way they want it. I say more power to them and I look forward to living long enough to see the beginnings of what they can do. I truly believe Trump will be the last "Republican" President and the Dems are not far behind them.

Good points. Both parties would rather destroy our country than give up power.

I think the fundamental flaw with the electoral college is that in most states it's winner take all for electors. I think it makes more sense to have a proportionate number of electors based on the popular vote in each state. I'd also like to see a national law on how elections are to be held in all fifty states. Currently, each state sets out the rules on how elections are to be done. Both of these things would require amendments to to constitution. Never going to happen IMO.

That she isn’t. She’s more successful than most of us in here at a much earlier age. I disagree with virtually all of her positions but she’s definitely not dumb. My guess is her iq is higher than most in here.

She didn't know what a garbage disposal was?
The world is gonna end in 12 years if we don't go with the green new deal and your biggest issue is how are we gonna pay for it?
There are more people concerned with being factually, semantically and precisely correct than about being morally right?
Three chambers of congress... the presidency, the senate and the house... when what she really meant was 3 branches of gov't, executive, legislative, and judicial?
She thought she'd be "inaugurated" and not sworn in...

She's absolutely frickin stupid.

She put together research project on the impact of antioxidants on roundworms. Not the most in-depth scientific concept, but probably involves at least 3 words you don't know.

She got some sort of academic fellowship while at college. Not impossible, but requires some academic success.

She went to Boston University... not a top tier school, but ranked 42. She had no connections or money to get in.

She graduated **** laude from said university. So she actually did her work and got good grades. Again, not a sign of brilliance, but given that she had no connections, no rich parents, it indicates academic capabilities.

You can claim she's an idiot for her saying some dumb things. Hell, I say trump's an idiot for saying dumb things.
The difference is she also has some indicators that those are actually gaffes and not because she has an underlying lack of understanding of the system. And more importantly, her college record would indicate that she has an ability to learn when new information is presented to her.

I'm guessing she's already learned from all the mistakes she made above, and you're not going to see her tweet things like "it is supposed to be 'inaugurated' not "sworn in" it's the fake news that's telling you otherwise. I have an article 2 that means it's 'inaugurated'!"

But you think she's an idiot. But you also don't seem to ever notice when trump has similar gaffes. I understand... it's hard to notice those because they come so rarely. I mean... 4 or 5 times a day is practically never, and way more infrequently than her.

I suspect you would have difficulty accomplishing what she did academically.

the perception that AOC is unfavorable in her own district is a con fantasy, fake news, perpetuated by Trump ... so his followers and right wing media believe it must be true...

here are the facts:

seems her own voters actually like her...
