Stopped at Home Depot on my way home and got a new tailpiece for bathroom sink. Been missing the plunger for a few months. Bought the wrong size, so no using sink till after I wake up and get the right thing.

Fed n watered chickens. Still not laying, but should be starting any day now.

Finished my chainsaw rebuild. New rings, new gaskets, cleaned carb and oiler passageways and replaced filter.

Should go to bed but yard needs mowing and the last of my new computer parts are getting delivered today so I'll probably be wanting to mess with that later. Ill finish my beer and decide on mowing or not.

Good morning. Sitting here sipping coffee catching up on the festivities.

Mama got me a new onion to tie on my belt. The old one was getting a bit wrinkly and squishy, I have an appointment this morning, so she wanted me looking nice.

Suns out guns out.

What a day!

Mama's got a squeeze box
She wears on her chest
And when daddy comes home
He never gets no rest
'Cause she's playing all night
And the music's all right
Mama's got a squeeze box
Daddy never sleeps at night

We can't bust heads like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to tell 'em stories that don't go anywhere - like the time I caught the ferry over to Shelbyville. I needed a new heel for my shoe, so, I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on 'em. Give me five bees for a quarter, you'd say.

Now where were we? Oh yeah: the important thing was I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn't have white onions because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones...

Finished my beer and decided to mow. And another couple beers later I'll be sleeping like a baby today no alarm set and nothing to do tonight except complete my new computer build. Prolly working tomorrow night, so no reason to swap up my sleep routine either.

When I was a BT I had a 4533 GR Console operator NEC. Then when I switched to MA I got the 0812 small arms instructor NEC.

The woman's dog is down to his last week or two. Hasn't been eating... is losing tons of weight. Seems the kidney disease has really hit high gear.
Got him some appetite stimulant this morning to see if that helps.... if he won't eat consistently by this weekend we'll schedule a vet to come to the house next weekend.

Don't go the extra week. I have lost 3 dogs to kidney failure. With 1 I waited the extra week. He was in hell that week. I wish I had not went the extra week with him. He deserved better.

Sorry for your dog's trouble. Hope not a lot of pain there.

Makes for some really difficult times and discussions. I was a dog owner for many years and my wife and family members have a lot of pet care experience.

I've long been fascinated by the emotional (and financial) decision processes that take place. Would like for those conversations to be possible with regards to people health care, but it is considered to cold and unfeeling to get near them.

Hope you can get the pup mostly healthy without too many tears or a financial burden

I had a mobile vet service come to the house.
It was by far the best way to do it.

On the couch in front of the fireplace.
Where we spent countless evenings together

I suspect euthanasia now would be best. It will minimize your wife's suffering and a loving gesture towards your suffering pet.

That's what we did with the last hospice dog. Was a much better experience than the dog before, which had to happen in a hospital.

He doesn't seem to be in any pain that we can tell. But he's always been a difficult dog to gauge. Hasn't really wanted to play in years, never has wanted to be held... only behavioral difference we can see is the disinterest in food. So that's all we have to go off.

The woman's mom is coming into town this weekend to see him one last time.

At Rick's suggestion, I'm going to go home and kill my wife's dog now.

Because he knows exactly when it should be killed better than anyone else.

what a d1ck.

It was a joke, a funny one at that, and at his own expense.

Dude. It wasn't a joke. He and I don't joke. We have never "shared a joke". He's being a d1ck, intentionally.
