I don't think you understand the difference between lies and fake news... The last 2 stories for instance, which are stories 5 and 6 on cnn's front page, are fake news...

You might not like that term, you might agree with what's written in those stories, the information found in those stories might be partially or even fully accurate... Nevertheless, they are fake news because they aren't news at all, the information isn't newsworthy, and yet it appears on the front page of a major news site...

If everything that appears on CNN gets labeled fake news, they have no one to blame but themselves for peddling so much of it.... #nothingburger

I did know the definition of fake news prior to Trumps successful rebranding effort and do know trumps new definition. They are different. And that’s not the same as agreeing with cnns coverage or recognizing that at best some of it is misleading or biased.

The original definition has been commandeered intentionally for not great purposes.

Well whoever gave you the first definition you were going off of, be pissed at them...

Fake news always has been and always will be news that is fake... As in not real... Something that masquerades as news but is in fact anything but news...

Example: the bias opinion pieces often run on the front page of cnn...

Cnn claims to be a news outlet yet far more often than not showcases material containing enough bias and opinion to disqualify it from being considered news... It's fake news...

As for cnn and other media outlets with clear liberal bias, they aired plenty of opinion pieces masquerading as news in hopes of getting Hillary elected... They don't now get to pretend they're going to be partisan... When the president treats them like garbage, they're getting what they gave...
