A Georgia high school teacher was put on administrative leave over her description of the Confederate flag, The Augusta Chronicle reports.

At Hephzibah High School, a teacher reportedly displayed a picture with a Confederate flag and a description of what the flag meant.

“A sticker you put on the back of your pickup truck to announce that you intend to marry your sister," the description read. "Think of it like a white trash ‘Save The Date’ card.”

The Richmond County School System opened an investigation after a picture of the projection was posted to Facebook.

In a statement, the school district said, "The Richmond County School System is committed to creating a diverse, equitable learning environment for students."

“The language used in the example was unacceptable and has no place in our classrooms.”

I mean... I wouldn't want teachers putting any sort of dumb meme up in a classroom. They're supposed to teach, not spread easily digestible but ultimately false information.

Yes... it's funny....

But still not what you want a teacher doing. Don't know if a suspension is appropriate, but definitely needed to be stopped.

I hope she appropriately attributed it... if not that deserves some punishment as well.

I agree with you that a teacher shouldn't be introducing this crap in a classroom, but if it's on his/her vehicle? Freedom, baby... freedom. I may disagree with the premise, and I won't sully any of my vehicles with stupid bumper stickers, but it's their right to do so.

A window sticker? Sure... easily scraped off.
