Same here. Three I gotta get to but I don't see it happening today. No reason other than I'm lazy and plan to just smoke my cob n drink beers today. Might smoke or grill some meat later.

Wife wants to walk up to the fire station, they're having open house and fire truck rides today. But her mom's coming over to go with and there's only 3 passenger seats so I think they can go without me.

If you wanna get into F1, it's too late.

Those guys are groomed into it from infancy.

I tried getting my kid into racing. Doesn't really care about karting, doesn't care about going fast on a bicycle. Got him on dirtbikes and he's not into it. Said he really wanted a 4 wheeler after we went to a race, so I borrowed one but he didn't like it. His self preservation instincts are too strong for racing.

I wanted to race since I was a kid, but my parents wouldn't allow it.

My father raced formula fords when I was growing up (and some other sort of cars earlier than that...) He got me into quarter midgets when I was in grade school.... It was a lot of fun, but eventually got in the way of swimming competitions.

I like fast also, but straight line drag racing. Did it for a while with a Ford Anglia built for it. Second time I rebuilt the engine I sold it, but sure had fun. Afternoon all.

Wife hounded me about being a lazy POS long enough that I gave in and now I'm out back chopping trees.

Leading in with a couple smokes and at least as many beers isn't helping me.

Rode the fire truck with everyone. Guess they had more seats than I remembered.

Cut up 3 fallen trees with the chainsaw that quit halfway and I had to run to the store to replace the spark plug. Ran out of gas too, so back to the gas station for that.

Finished the job, and loaded up several trailer loads of logs, dumped em in the burn pit on top of a months worth of paper. County no longer takes recycling at public access sites so everything's garbage now. Figure I'll just use the paper trash to start fires. Topped off the pile with a gallon of used motor oil and lit it up.

Gonna run to the grocery store for some shrimp and andouille sausage, got everything else I need for a batch of jambalaya, gonna make that tonight. In the garage cause wife hates when I cook in the kitchen.

Then back to my planned smoking and drinking in the garage all day. Back to work tomorrow night so gotta stay up tonight anyway.

Cut up one fallen tree with a chainsaw that worked all the way through. Well, the chain popped off once, but was fine once it was stuck back in place. Fire to be started at a later date.

I ain't cooking, so hope Mrs Beach has a plan for dinner. I'm down for the smoking/drinking part of your agenda

Smells great in here.

Started with some lighter aromatics in a cob, then added in the pot of jambalaya. Topping it with a CC HUpmann coronas major. Plan to follow that with some Lakeland blends and finish with English.

Some bourbon and several beers as well.

So I bout chit my pants.

Was sitting on a bucket by the fire, heard a couple leaves crunching and twigs snapping, so I called out "cmere moo" thinking my dog was outside and not sure if she could venture out in the woods.

Instead of an enthusiastic mutt, I heard a snort. Pulled my flashlight from my pocket and turned around face to face with a full grown lady deer. Jumped up and ran, as did she - thankfully in the opposite direction.

Back to the garage and my recliner.
