Abc showed a video on the news, and Twitter, and Instagram, and YouTube last night... It was footage of Turkish forces bombing the crap out of the kurds...

Or was it?

It was not... It was footage from a Kentucky firing range...


I don't know about you, but my friends don't regularly try to deceive me into adopting their beliefs... That's a tactic of an enemy...

It's unfortunate they got tricked... (I'm assuming they were, as otherwise they would know it would get found out)... Does this mean turkey is not attacking and killing anyone then?

There's more than just ABC. You have 2 eyes, 2 ears and theoretically a brain controlling them. Is there any other information suggesting that Turkey is attacking and killing anyone? I mean, I go to you for all my news now, so you better make a decisions pretty quickly and tell me.

Is turkey bombing syria at all, or are they innocently sitting in turkey playing solitaire wondering why people would say they would do something so mean?

Cnn says turkey is attacking the kurds... If I had to guess based on that alone, I'd say there is no turkey and there are no kurds...

I didn't ask you to guess based on cnn alone though.
I asked you to tell me whether turkey is attacking anyone. Are there bombs landing anywhere? Is anyone being injured? Are US troops involved?

You told me you're the news. Get to work and be the news. Find more information than just cnn and abc. Other sources are available online. There are journalists who claim to be there right now.... get me the news I need.

there was a video that was shown at a fund raising event at Trump's Doral resort in Florida this weekend...video was of Trump killing a bunch of journalists, Bill and Hillary, Schiff, Pelosi, Schumer ... someone said it was a joke... but peeps have gotten killed over stuff Trump says...


I think opel should reconsider being the news or Trump will come to get him, too...cuz he's the enemy...

sorta like the Trump WWE event where he wrestled CNN to the ground?

heard it was a snippet of a violent scene from a movie (Wick?) with Trump's face superimposed over the assassin's face and the "enemies" he's killing have Dems and media peeps superimposed...

no big deal?

I dunno...some dumazz may use that as a green light...there have been documented incidents of suspects killing and committing other violent crimes motivated by what Trump says...

You know what your biggest problem with what you're saying is, right? Trump had nothing to do with the video... Didn't create it, didn't endorse it... In fact, he condemned it...

Now that we know you consider trumps words so powerful and his followers so true, I'm sure you'll be crediting him with stopping violence by condemning the video, right?

yeah I saw that, and it is an example of a media outlet passing along something fake...but that is an anomaly...and they are taking responsibility...doubt if it was deliberate, since they are apologizing...

there are plenty of other stories and videos of actual shooting and bombing and civilians fleeing from that part of the world to show the event itself is not fake...

I hope all faked news stories, by right and left leaning media sources are exposed...and that journalists today, as in the past when folks like Cronkite were trusted by both cons and libs, are motivated by facts and the truth...

They reported fake news. I find the reason essentially irrelevant. It is the responsibility of the news shows to only report verifiable news, hopefully multiple verifications. Wrong is wrong.

Was Trump within legal bounds when he made his decision? We are a country based on law. If you don't like a law work on changing the law. Don't try to make up your own. Admitedly I have not followed these events. Are non Americans protected groups also now? What does the constitution say? It is the ultimate law of the land. In all honesty the only thing I find interesting here is Opel comedy. A good Dennis Miller or Dennis O'Leary rant seems worthwhile. We don't belong in the middle east other than for 3 specific reasons. To protect American interests, to protect Israel, and to kill terrorists. Get real and wake up.

Yep. It was the West Point Machine Gun Shoot & Military Gun Show held twice a year at the Knob Creek Range in Kentucky. It's a big time bi-annual event. A friend of mine was there this year and posted damn near the exact same picture on his facebook page.

what people are missing, and what is conveniently ignored, is that there is a lot of media out there.
More and more media is coming out of the area showing injured civilians, bombed out places etc. By screwing up and showing a video which had nothing to do with it, ABC has unfortunately undermined all the other media. Or at least that's what the people focusing on it want to happen.

Fine... fire whoever chose to air that video.

But we shouldn't need a video to know what the news is. News and information can be acquired a lot of different ways. Bottom line... is turkey invading syria? Are they killing kurds in a genocidal manner? If the answer to these questions is yes... then why would we focus for even a second on a fake video ABC showed? That sounds a lot like arguing over the color of a car while it runs someone over. Punish them and move on.

You touched on the heart of the problem... Is turkey killing kurds in a genocidal manner? We don't have any evidence of that... But abc wanted there to be evidence of that... So they found something that fit the narrative - trump bad - and ran with it...

What's actually happening over there? It looks like turkey is trying to form a safe zone around their southern border... It would be like America declaring war on Mexico and then setting Tijuana on fire... Genocide? No... Murder? Meh, it's war... People die in war... War is the act of killing the enemy to achieve your own goal...

So apparently what's going on in Syria is not genocide or a campaign of violence against kurds... It's a specific attempt to clear the towns of Tel Abyad and Ras al Ayn in northeast Syria...

An important question I would love to see answered: how long have the residents of those two towns been there? Generations? 6 months?

With all the movement in Syria over the last 5 years or so, I'd guess much closer to the latter and I'd guess turkey is very uncomfortable having their sworn enemy camping out on their back porch...

I don't think these two statements match.
I was under the impression abc was just showing evidence (false evidence) of turkey bombing syrian kurds.... if thats all you need as evidence of genocidal killings I think there are other videos and photos of that...(of course you'rew responsible for telling us which ones are real.... get to reviewing them opel!)
