Beto wants to take away all the "assault" rifles from law abiding citizens only.

I'm not sure this would be a good thing.

Change my mind.

I wouldn't try to change your mind because it is dumb.

But....

We could just remove them from the good guys then send a letter written is crayon trying to make a deal with the bad guys telling them not to be a fool and stuff.

Honestly as bad as Beto is, Trump is like Hillary and stuff.

Meh... Beto wants to do the exact opposite of what I would like regarding assault weapons. I disagree with him on that.

He's still a significantly better choice than twitler.

Assault weapons should be in every home, along with a dog so you will know when to grab it.

Beto is like Jeb Bush. Even if he WAS the most qualified candidate, we can't have a President Beto. Or President Jeb.

if the choice was Donald or Beto...Beto every time....

all candidates say odd stuff that they hope will attract attention and distinguish themselves from their opponents...it was clear he didn't really think his statement through because of how scattered his implementation plan sounded...

all along his intent was to express a sentiment that a large segment of Americans may personally/privately think, if the polls are correct...to get notoriety

I'd have to go third party, again.

I rarely vote third party, since those candidates never win and in some years siphon off votes from a candidate I support...

it's a little weaselly to say after an election that you didn't vote for the winner, but jump on his bandwagon and say he's greater than sliced bread and back him to the hilt...

I don't mind saying I voted for Hillary, warts and all, especially because I didn't think that Trump was qualified...and he keeps proving my suspicions...

doesn't siphon off electoral votes where I live, but I'd rethink it if it did.

Seems to me - and I'm probably wrong - but it seems to me the only thing keeping a 3rd party candidate from winning is people who keep believing 3rd party candidates can't win...

Wonder which parties are responsible for starting that lie?

I concur. A 300 winmag is way more powerful and dangerous than an AR15, but it looks like a sporting rifle... so nobody cares. The AR15 looks scary, so the anti-gun 'tards called it an "assault weapon" to make it sound scary.

Cool. So if there’s no such thing as “Assault Weapons,” then the whining about a “ban” is pretty superfluous.

Glad we got that straightened out.

you're right...the evolution of the American two party system and their development of elections rules have resulted in marginalization of third party candidates...

we the people don't care enough to change to rules of the election game and there is too much moneyed interests invested in the two-party system to doom any effort in that direction...

The same parties that make a concerted effort to keep third party candidates off of ballots and out of debates.

might be wrong but I seem to recall that all any one of the third/fourth/fifth party candidates need is 15% of the votes to get the money and a place on the next election's debate stage...so I keep trying.

That, you disgruntled voters, is not a wasted vote.

Alan, you tell me you’re gonna ban unicorns and I can’t own a horse we got problems. People who are firearm MORONS have no business trying to regulate them. Not even to mention they shouldn’t be regulated.

Delta, some of us voted third party and actually don’t support Cheeto to the hilt....were just sick of the crap that got him elected. Which.....people are feeding more.....which is going to re-elect him...

the 2000 Presidential election was decided by less than 600 votes in Florida...

Ralph Nader got 92K votes, more than twice the amount of all the other lower ballot candidates combined...most political experts considered votes for Nader as votes that could've gone to Dems...

if I lived in Florida 20 years ago I would not have voted 3rd party...probably wouldn't have done it since then either, knowing the electoral votes were at risk in that state.

in many if not most states (I'm totally guessing) the electoral votes have little chance of being affected. Certainly not in MA.

First take away all the guns form criminals, kinda like a test run, then we'll discuss the Second Amendment and what it really says.

Victor (who is mistakenly called a lib) says you can have a nuke in your garage too.
or grenades.
or a howitzer.

Anyone have an idea where to draw the line regarding what "arms" our founding fathers intended a couple hundred years in the future?
in order to fight off a bad government, that is.

I'm not anti gun possession, just asking for a friend.
He's looking for sanity.

Hoss, the "arms" are no different than a tool in your shed. It's the man wielding it that makes the determination whether to do good or evil. No more than a rake determines whether vegetables or weeds will germinate and be dominate in the garden.

A nuke in my basement would be as safe as one of my grandchildren and no danger to any man. Unless one threatened me or mine. Mine including my country.

There in lies the difference. I ask no man to cut his johnson off as there are those that commit rape with them. Nor would any sane person.

So why in God's name would I give up my firearms? They'll not be used for evil, so what is the point of that? And no sane person looking at this honestly would ask either.
