But I missed any proposed legislation in the quarter century since the stupid statement on her part designed to outlaw all possession of guns. The non fringe lefties (the vast majority btw) are not in line with that thinking anyway.
Beto is a joke. He's also not currently in a position with even the power to arrest jay walkers. Feel free to ignore him, as so far he speaks for one person only. Well, maybe fourteen potential voters. HA!
NRA, however, is a gigantic powerful political force. Convincing members that even allowing discussion will lead to the Commies' confiscation of 300,000,000 guns is possibly dumber than Beto's next remark...and we already know his next remark will be powerless and stupid.
I understand your position, and yet we seem to be able to discuss it without bloodshed. We can't be the only two able to talk.
don't assume anything opposed to what the NRA says has to be so far in the extreme as to necessarily even approach Beto's or Feinstein's statements.
The context of that clip was the Clinton Assault Weapons ban they pushed through in the 90's. They did do a ban, and what she was saying was that she wanted confiscation. Period. Not just assault weapons, but all of them. You have to go back and look at her history in public office for the full context of that statement.
As to the total push backs? Why would we not. It's a slippery slope, once you start banning "things", what's next? England has banned guns, then knives for years. Folks are still getting hacked up on the streets. And it's getting worse. Europe is having real problems as the people have no recourse for personal protection.
I will not roll over for some rich privileged "smarter than everyone else" crooked politician that thinks restricting my rights is ok. Regardless of what we're talking about.
Because it's not about safety, it's about control. That is the real issue here. I know it's a meme anymore, but the first thing dictatorships, communist and socialist governments do is ban private firearm ownership. It makes the populace easier to control and force into their "role".
It seems far fetched that it could be done here, but they're trying. Look at all the rhetoric literally and in it's totality minus all the party politics. I honestly believe that they are pushing for total control. They advocate and promote socialism every chance they get. "Rules for Radicals" really does seem to be the foundation.
I've been out there walking the earth, I've seen these governments and systems in operation over the long haul. It's not pretty, and I'd not want my grandchildren to have to go through that dystopian crap.
And regardless of what some here think, there is a large chunk of folks out here that will stand up to it. That little episode in Nevada recently was a game changer. The feds can be stood down, but God help us if it comes to that.
This is why words need to be heeded and these people need stopped.
