Still frost covered outside. Lot's of leaves on the ground and still some on the trees particularly in the front yard. Still talking about snow here Thursday night.

Probably finish up reading captain underpants to the kids tonight... My sister recommended it as a rebound from the heavy nature of Charlottes web... In 2 sittings we've finished 18 of 20 chapters... They absolutely love it...

My kid loves captain underpants. And dog man.

My sister (who works with this stuff) highly recommends 2 dogs in a trench coat... Haven't read it yet but apparently her 7 year olds love it...

Seems reasonable.

Been sick my whole workweek. It's finally letting up but still feeling like garbage.

I begged for the on-call tonight. I rarely ever take them (last one was November of last year) so it was my turn. Thought it was a sure thing.

But then someone called off. So back to work. Last one...

Luckily for me I very rarely get those... never had a migraine, but if I drink way too much I will get headaches with a hangover. A large bottle of gatorade and a greasy breakfast usually cures me.

sounds worth the risk.

I'm unlikely to get too many more hangover headaches, but I found that when I had the brains to drink a glass of water between drinks or at least after two and before another, damage was minimal if at all. I guess alcohol is dehydrating.

I don't drink all that frequently, but on the rare occasions that I would go overboard and get drunk, I usually would wake up with a nasty headache the following morning . . . until a friend gave me this piece of advice.
Take whatever is your pain medication of choice, whether it be aspirin, Tylenol, Advil, Oxycontin, etc, BEFORE you go to bed.
When you wake up the next morning . . . NO headache ! Worked for me.

I leave my drinkin for the weekend. Never get hangovers, and thoroughly enjoy my whiskey. I drink about a liter of water when I wake up to counteract the dehydration from drinkin and smokes. You can try pain relievers as Jes recommends, but DO NOT take anything with Acetaminophen while drinking. It will destroy your liver.
Check drugs.com for any interactions to be safe. And enjoy

No Tylenol with alcohol. Bad combo.

Even if it's VERY infrequently . . . like MAYBE twice a year ? Think
Well anyway, the point is moot, as I'm an ADVIL kinda guy, but nonetheless, a good PSA for those that take Tylenol. ThumpUp

Morning folks.

Being a professional, pounding down a big glass of water before bed if you have enough spin on the ball left to remember is the best way to mitigate the dreaded hangover headaches. 90% of the hangover is dehydration. Offset that and you're golden.

A finger down the throat works well mitigating a hangover. Something other than a finger, who knows?

What's there to adjust to? It's an hour.

Best hangover cure is an IV and some O2. My drinkin' buddy on a few occasions was the corpsman. He'd give me an IV and an oxygen mask and as soon as the IV was gone... I was ready to do it again.

LOL MACS! I had actually thought about posting that too.

Our XO was a frog and had a policy that if anybody puked at PT he doubled down. His theory was we all knew when PT was scheduled, and we should be good to go. Yeah, well...............................................

After the first time I was the trigger for that, my running mate and I would get down to the unit early and Doc would have sickbay set up with exactly that setup. Lactated Ringers and O2. The first time he hooked me up I could not believe the difference it made. I filed that one away. It was our pt ritual after that.

This kind of stuff is why we always groomed a cook, corpsman, disbursing clerk, supply clerk and yeoman that liked to shoot. Free range passes as long as they took care of my guys when we needed it. Always gave a go to guy. Saved my buttocks on more than one occasion. ;)
