Anyone else see Tucker Carlson's piece on Tuesday?
I thought it was one of the better deep dives I've seen on Fox News. I know that some of you wouldn't be caught dead watching Tucker Carlson do or say anything.....but I urge you to give this one little bit of your time. It runs 10-12 minutes, so it isn't fluff or a couple hyperbolic sound bites. He actually goes after names and money that reside largely on the Republican side of the road.
He hits on some talking points that I've been trying to articulate for quite a few years now. Despite being a fairly pure Adam Smith/Ayn Rand capitalist most of my life, I've been somewhat disillusioned the last couple decades.
-Too much business objective today revolves around shareholders and/or short term gain
-Too few businesses recognize that by incorporating societal and community interest in their vision/mission, they are, in fact, raising their own value
-American entrepreneurial-ism requires high risk/reward capital -- however, the system today unfairly rewards the investor class, IMO....somehow, someway, we need to bring some balance back....or maybe I've just watched too many episodes of Billions...IDK
Any way, make some time and give it a watch.....I thought it was fairly powerful
