My shpo doesn't protect me.

I swung by earlier, and Anejo 888's were $20

I was only in to buy an $8 can of butane for a christmas gift (really decent price for Xikar at a shpo) but saw the handwritten sign "new fuentes" and had to wander into the humidor to see. But I'm not spending $20/cigar for anything. I've bought a couple God of Fires from them, also around that $20 point, but that was for special occasion/gifting. If they had em at $10-12 I might've grabbed a fiver.

Nuthin’.

Bought a bunch of Fuentes last year - box each of R44s, WOAMs, Divine Inspirations and 2 boxes of 8-5-8 Rosados. All are stashed away and probably won’t be opened until 2021. Also got 3 5ers of 888s for $8.49 per cigar (...with my birthday discount...).

On the lookout for Best Seller Maduros so iffin’ you hear about availability, please give me a shout.

I liked the Anejo line much better when the wrappers were aged in Cognac barrels the first few years. The current Calvados barrel fermented offerings are just ok imo.

Dang it!

Last week I was chillaxing and not even thinking of getting any more cigars when this damn thread popped up (...thanks a lot Jamie...) and I made a comment about looking for Best Seller Maduros. Got some PMs thereafter and it got me looking a little bit harder. Also got an e-mail from another vendor that offered 30% off, site wide. Checked into it but they didn’t have any BSMs...but they had Anejo #46s for a decent price. For s&g, I put a box into my cart, applied the discount code and whatta you know, the discount code worked. Price per cigar was $7.32, not bad. Seen better but that was a few years ago.

Anyway, at just about the same time, USNGunner / Vince PM’d about a vendor that had BSMs and also offered a “Wheel of Fortune” discount. I went to the site, spun the wheel and got 16% off. Took the 16% and applied it to the BSMs and came up with a pretty good price. Much better than the $180-ish I’d seen but nothing like the sub-$140 from 4-5 years ago. Oh well, non-buyers remorse. d'oh!

So now, decisions, decisions. BSMs or 46s? Low on BSMs and have about a box and a half of 46s. All have 5+ years of rest on them. Both cigars are favorites. Man, this was a tough one. Decided to eat dinner and think about it.

After a couple of pieces of pizza, decided to pull the trigger on the 46s. The only odd thing is that the box is said to have 20 cigars, not the usual 25. But, for the sub-MSRP net price, went with the 46s, regardless of box count.

So, once again, thanks Jamie for (...unknowingly...) “making” me buy more cigars! Brick wall

LOL. Nice. I just checked. That must be a typo. My box of 46's have 25.

Unless the vendor's Walmart, I would not think there's special packaging. LOL

Should probably buy both to prevent further non buyer's remorse 4-5 years from now when you could find around $180 plus a 16%/30% discount

When I last (...first and only...) ordered from him, my shipment of two boxes of 46s got held up for 3 weeks and inspected. Luckily no CCs so no seizure.

Is Hawaii a lot more stringent on inspections?

I’m banking that it is a typo, it so, per cigar price drops to $5.86...quite a score for a full box of 46s!

Don't know about shipments, but they did not take kindly to the contraband apple the wife had in her purse at the airport.

I don’t really know. Since then, I’ve either done box splits with someone on the board and it’s shipped to them or bought from private inventory thinning sales.

I know Euodias orders CCs too and he doesn’t seem to have any issues so maybe it depends on the source? Think

What was the timeframe? I read somewhere they were a lot more picky about CCs a few years back than they are currently

Box arrived - sealed, regular pack of 25 - $146.48 or $5.86 per. I’d say I got a pretty good deal. Herfing

$146, that knocks fuentemania out of the park (which is about same as ravi on anejo). Let me know if you see that again, I only have old and crust 46s left

Wasn’t the best price but given the limited availability, still happy to have gotten a 2020 Extra / Extremely Rare Holiday set with 2 Fathers and Sons. Been semi-looking for another F&S ever since Tuck sent one as part of his end of a trade we did 4 years ago. Hopefully some day our son and I will sit down and smoke them to celebrate a special occasion.

Our shpo just got in 4 different versions of the AF Anejo but they're all extra Viejo. I got 2 of each having nh a Viejo & heard so much ado.
Just finished my 2nd no. 49 - impression is smooth, mild, good but is it me or are these super mild?
I could see adding these to the regular menu since they're priced right at $8 -$13 Jersey retail
So I gotta think they're on the webs for $6 - $11 or less
What's the difference between the extra Viejo & the regular?
Hoping extra Viejo means extra mild.

Viejo is Spanish for “old” so adding “Extra” is just marketing at its best. No difference between them.

Imho, Anejos age wonderfully so if you can put some aside for 3 or more years, you’ll be rewarded for your patience.

You want it to hit the east coast before it gets here. If it has the cross the Atlantic to get to you, you should be okay. Pacific is no good.

Those are hella good anejo prices though. Wish I actually liked them.

Again, maybe not a super score but found some Divine Inspirations for less than MSRP with free shipping (with orders $100 or more) so bought a few. Not sure if this is another release or old stock left from 2017 but gonna let them sit for a couple of years anyway.

Rich the Fuente reps are a weird breed, and to an extent is really doesn’t matter what a shpo wants. They get what Fuente decides to send them......
