i think having a $3 bid increment on a $7 item is absurd! ram27bat

has anyone else noticed this happening more frequently?

I agree that bid increments should be more proportional to the actual range of the particular item. I thought this was how it already worked. ??

But I must admit, I tend to go for boxes and 10 packs when I buy here, so I am not usually exposed to bidding on singles and whatnot.

No, not absurd at all.
It creates what is known as a “bid bubble”, and rewards those who get in early, and bid often.
If that item is a good deal at $7, but not such a good deal at $10..........well, then ya should have got your bid in at $7!

Or, be a Platinum Member and get the automatic 25 cent bid increment option on all auctions.

Platinum? Pish posh... when you get to the Flagship Rewards level you get 1 point for every dollar spent... and you can use your points to purchase cigars.
