Assed backwards. Chiefs are the “home” team I think..

Alphabetical order. May the best team win.

Obviously I want the Niners to win. Prognosticators have the chances in favor of the Chiefs about 2-1.

I can't lose, either way... if the Niners win, that'd be awesome since they're my favorite team. If they have to lose... at least it will be to a team who hasn't won it in a long damn time, to a coach who has never won, and they're my brother 8track's favorite team.

I'm not the guy who gets depressed for months when his team loses. Disappointed for a few minutes... and then life goes on.

a few days ago I saw that the 49ers and the chiefs are playing.
I suppose I should be excited given my current and previous locations.

I am actually going to go to a superbowl party for the first time in probably 15 years, so I suppose I am more excited than I've been in a long time....

A Super Bowl without the Vikings, Cowboys, Ravens or Seachickens. That's good enough.

My favorite team in the game is icing on the cake. Vito keeps calling me, reminding me the game is Sunday. What a great guy. He cares about me!

It is definitely Thursday. May your days be sunny and may your fishing be successful. May you always have a little more than you need, but not so much that your relatives nag you for handouts. And may your humidor always have at least one good Gar in it.

I had to edit my morning post to say Thursday cause I initially posted happy Friday fellas.

I wrote Friday on the surgical schedule board. Had to fix that too.

Wife's going to Indy cause her sister popping out another kid. I was gonna work tonight and she take the boy with her. But then I found out it wasn't Friday so he'd miss school. Not a big deal for first grade but I decided to stay home. I thought it was Friday.

Dad Jokes Thursday

"Dad! Dad! I won the Leslie Nielsen Badge at school today!"
"Whats that son?"
"A big building full of students and teachers, but that's not important right now"

A guy walks into a bar in rural West Virginia. Being a “local” bar in a fairly, “remote” location, he draws quite a few looks from the regulars.
He sits down and orders a white wine.
The bartender says, “You ain’t from around here, are ya?”
The guy says, “No, I’m from Canada. I’m a taxidermist.”
The barkeep asks, “what in tarnation is a taxidermist? You drive a taxi?”
“No. I mount animals,” the guy explains.
The bartender grins and yells to his patrons, “It’s OK, boys – he’s one of us!”

Quasimodo goes to a doctor for his annual checkup.
"I think something is wrong with your back," the doctor says.
"What makes you say that?" Quasimodo asks.
"I don't know," the doctor replies. "It's just a hunch."

Have a good one! fog

Dad bought a brand new truck yesterday.

2020 Chevy 2500 diesel with all the trimmings.

I'm gonna have to borrow it and see how it does towing before I decide on if I'm willing to drop the extra 10k+ between gas/diesel.

I feel like I want a diesel for towing comfort. I'd argue the mileage, and that's always in my head, but overall over the life of the truck, I'd never break even. But when i'm towing 10klbs and got my foot buried in the floormat up a hill doing 50mph getting 2.5mpg the diesel option sure seems attractive. Doesn't give much better towing mileage in those kind of situations, but it can maintain highway speed. And on flat land I'd expect a solid 10-11mpg at 65 where I get 7-8 at 55.

When I had the axle failure on my way to Georgia last year, I did the repair in the lot of a gas station nestled in a valley between mountains. I dropped the trailer and went empty to Tractor Supply to get a new hub in Chattannooga. Getting back on the highway empty I was full throttle and merged at about 50mph, the road to the on ramp was super steep and the on ramp the same. Thinking this is gonna be rough once I'm loaded. Sure was. I pulled out of the gas station full throttle but the tranny dropped to 2nd gear early and wouldn't go back to first so as I rounded the on ramp I was only at 3k rpm and doing about 25mph as I came onto the 65mph traffic.

I feel like situations like that, a diesel would really make my life easier. It also bothers me to be spinning 4k rpm for hours on end with a 15 year old truck. I'm always on edge waiting to hear it start knocking. I'm sure it's coming someday when I'm like halfway across Nebraska in the middle of nowhere and get hit with a $2k tow bill for truck and trailer.

I can get a "new" 3 year old gasser for about 30k. Diesel I have to look in the 40-50k range. I want something newer. I'd like to buy new and have warranty and stuff, but $70k for a vehicle is just insane.

I don't know where the hell you're shopping... and I'd imagine CA is much more expensive. A Ram 2500 turbo diesel can be had for much less than 70k.

Towed my boat with a 4.0L Tacoma. Hated it. Towed it with a 3.0L Ram 1500 ecodiesel. Loved it. Don't cheap out. Get the damn diesel.

2019 RAM 2500 BIG HORN CREW CAB 4X4 6'4 BOX - $54,200 advertised at the dealer closest to my house. If that's the sticker, you know you can get it for less. And that's with the 6.7L turbo diesel.

I'm leaning towards the 49'ers, even tho I hated them when they ruled football in the 80's and 90's...f'n Walsh, Montana, Rice, Young, Craig and Lott always found a way to beat the LA Rams

I still have a lingering bias against AFL teams, dunno why...when I was a kid, I used to throw the football cards away if it was an AFL player...they were considered minor league when I started following pro football in the early 60's...

Dan, my father had a 3500 for over 10 years. Diesel, it hardly ever broke down. After the ALS got to the point where he could no longer ride in it, we sold it and got a ramp van for him. All I can say is those duramax diesels with the Allison Transmission run forever.

I drive a Honda fit, it probably could go in the back of your pick up trucks. They are cheap and reliable for the milage I can do at work. Plus great gas milage, get to picket a little cash when I get reimbursed for milage.

All the closest dealers stock the fully loaded stuff in the 60-70k range. That, or the more basic trucks just sell faster and I never see them.

I've found a few diesels in the 50's but that's still too high for now. Once student loans are done in a few more months I can consider 50k for a new truck. Dad's new truck stickered at $75k. dunno what he actually paid, I'm sure it was much less.

Part of the issue when looking at cars n stuff is my proximity to IL. IL sales tax is over 10% where IN is 7%. Theres a lot more selection over the border, but there's a lot of demand on this side. I need to expand my search eastward. That's what I did when I bought wife's Civic.

Went to my parents house to check out the new truck. I love it. Drove it a little down country roads and a short highway run. TONS of effortless power.

Can't wait to borrow it for a camping trip to see how it tows. Probably tows effortlessly. I really like the 10 speed tranny, it's super smooth.

It's HUGE though. I thought my truck was big, this one's bigger in all dimensions. Hood is mid chest height on me, it's mid belly on my truck.

I think I will probably spring for the diesel, cost be damned, when I get a new truck.
