Man... people will be wandering around aimlessly now!

"Hey... how do I get to that lounge."

"Oh, it's easy. Just go down to that big tree and turn left."

No no no.

Go out to Emmet Browns(dude's been dead for 50 years),
But don't turn there! Go on up to Jim Slater's old place(moved 25 years ago) and hang a right.
When you pass the the tree lightning hit back in 48, it's the next house on the right.

That is the kind of directions my Pop's gave when I was growing up and got my license in 76.

Dude was killing me. Frying pan

Hahahahaha! That’s how people in Hawaii give driving directions, landmarks, not addresses or distances and we occasionally throw in these directional pointers:

Ewa - West
Diamond Head - East
Makua towards the mountains
Makai - towards the ocean

Up until a few years ago, the police department even used those indicators in their reports. Of course they’ve now been “outlawed” to account for officers that didn’t grow up in Hawaii.
