No. I joined the forum and was immediately attacked, just like all the other new people who join. You've all been reported anyway. Apparently y'all can dish it out but can't take it. Typical.

So, the old timers can abuse anyone they want, anytime they want......but the instant people start dishing it back you get your tampons in a wad?

I see. Hypocritical much?

I just joined after lurking forever and was welcomed to the BOTL with open arms. If you spend any time looking you will see it's all done in fun. Don't take it personally or as Al Swaeringen in Deadwood would say:

The world ends when you’re dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man… and give some back.

Why are some folks pairing beads with Boveda? To make the Boveda last longer because they are poor?

No.
When pairing beads and Bovedas, you can, under fairly “normal” storage conditions (the temp and RH of your house) create an almost maintenance free system.
All I ever have to do is recharge 5 or so Bovedas, per YEAR, out of the 20 or so I use.
I never have to do anything with my beads.
This is been my setup for 6+ years now.

it works great even in a big sterlite container, as long as you don't open too often

I can completely and abundantly verify this. My standard container type is a stackable 116-quart Sterilite tub, and I have quite a number of them indeed. Again I don't use beads + Boveda but rather superabsorbent polymer crystals + Boveda, but it's a similar idea, and in every one of those 116-quart containers it works like a dream and is extremely close to maintenance-free.

So yes, you can "go big" with no problems. If you use this humidification system (either the beads or the polymer crystals, along with Boveda) inside giant stackable containers, it's the best method I've found for low-cost, low-hassle, low-maintenance storage of very, very large cigar collections.

It's worked for me for years, and I don't expect that to change. Lovin' it!

If you want to go in and out of a certain container daily, or multiple times per day, just throw in another 4 to 6 big Bovedas, and your RH will remain fine.
