Stone, 67, was convicted of seven counts of obstructing and lying to Congress and witness tampering over his efforts during the 2016 campaign to get the Trump campaign information about WikiLeaks.

Prosecutors had made the recommendation of 87 to 108 months in prison to D.C. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson, an Obama appointee, based on federal guidelines.

And all 4 prosecutors have with drawn.

I'm not upset... if he gets a few years that'll do.

Of course... I've seen travesties of justice here in Commiefornia a lot since I work in the system. This isn't even small potatoes. It's barely a single tater tot.

A jury convicted Stone of lying to Congress, obstruction and witness tampering. Barr should bow-out and leave the sentence alone so Trump can pardon him.

Funny to see folks upset that arrest records are raised against people due to the innocent until proven guilty thing but they will dismiss a conviction and point to allegations or situations where no arrests have even been made. buncha hypocrites we are.

I'm ok with what the judge decides. I'm just not that invested nor do I have all the detail to compare to other cases like the Judge does. Some in here may, or may think they do. Apparently the prosecutors felt strongly though *shrug*

While not surprised, I am impressed with the responses here.

Stone is a POS from the Nixon days, and full on organized crime. Guilty as sin itself.

But he is part of the Trump team - so the only reason he was found guilty is because of Trump haters.

OR best and most common - Look over there! Other were not charged with crimes when Fox and the GOP has full on convicted them.

And lastly, if you read the subtext; the criminal and chief get to keep his homies clean.

The part that pisses me off is the Republicans controlled every branch of government until the Dems took the house. They still have the Presidency and DOJ, and the Senate which is stacking the courts

Yet they still keep convicting innocent Republicans and not even charging guilty Democrats. Outrageous!

If the Russia collusion story was a hoax (and it most certainly was) why is stone going to prison? His conviction is immoral. If he spends a single day in prison it validates the Russian hoax as a true.
There's only one solution he must be pardoned.

Roger Stone was convicted of 7 felonies.

5 counts of lying to Congress.
1 count of obstructing justice.
1 count of witness tampering.

None of these convictions occurred because of Russia. So your comment about Russian collusion has no bearing on his convictions, is factually incorrect, and intellectually lacking.

That would be a different topic of which my opinion would not be what you are assuming. I surely don't know enough to have strong feelings either way but from the little I know he's a a swamp creature from way back so I'm certain there's plenty of slime. My sense of the times though tell me Brennan, clapper, Comey and the rest of the deep state mob are the real criminals that need to be locked up. Did they really need frogmen with AKs at his back door with a CNN crew at dawn? That in itself speaks volumes
