Gorgeous sunny 8 degree day. Pops is coming by this morning to drop some stuff off and hang out. Nice surprise. Pushing me back another day though, at this rate Clint may never get his cigar glue. LOL

I'm hoping the rest of the day is smooth.

Got an email that my Form 3 went through on my new suppressor.

In hindsight I shouldve ordered from a shop with a range so I could have conjugal visits while waiting on the form 4 approval. There's one about 40 minutes from home I could've bought from.

This just makes the long long wait suck a little more knowing its sitting in a box at a shpo 2 miles from home and I cant see it for about 6 months.

When I bought my machine gun, it was a little over 12 months. So, the new wait times are better. But it's still brutal to lay out all that cash up front and not get the item you bought for many months.

^Kinda makes you wonder how we got so far away from the second amendment, already, doesn't it?

Permit? The second amendment is pretty much our "permit".

Don't see me spouting political bs on the 500. I'm smarter than that. And more afraid of the rambone.

Today's breakfast was very nice. The girls in the kitchen downstairs made me a nice buscuits and gravy with breakfast sausage chunks and topped it all off with cheese.

Contemplating lunch and where I should go.

1,000 rounds cost me $200. It was fortunate that I had my passport in the glove box of the car, too... otherwise I couldn't have bought the ammo. Apparently in CA, you have to have a gun registered to you in the last 5 years, and either a "Real ID" verified by birth certificate or passport... or your CA driver's license with either a birth certificate or your passport.

Communist, I tell you...

Indeed that’s what I’m seeing. Maybe a little cheaper here or there, but close enough and I have it in hand today. Still... the whole idea of birth certificate and passport and driver’s license... UnAmerican.

Agreed. Last time i renewed I argued with the BMV over the RealID stuff, since they needed all the proof to issue my existing not quite so real driver's license

Dug around in the warehouse electrical today... still trying to sort out why we aren't able to blow a GFCI the same way our client is.

Was going to install a 15A GFCI to see if that would trip...Found out that none of our outlets are actually grounded.... we have a 3 phase breaker box that sends out our hot, with a neutral return.... but no one put a ground in the box. Interestingly an unused box off to the side of the warehouse runs a ground wire and neutral wire to the neutral bar.... that seems like a bad idea... but we don't use it so I guess its not going to be an issue.

So I set up a simple ground to the conduit for my GFCI, close it up and plug everything in.... still works fine. I can hear the system arcing in the background. Oddly now it's taking like 3x as long to trip our internal circuit and cause it to shut down. But still isn't touching the GFCI.

I had a gremlin GFCI issue a few years ago in the camper.

It would not trip the GFCI at home, I could overload and trip the breaker. But when I was parked in a grassy field at the racetrack it kept tripping the GFCI on the generator even without much of a load, just the 12v inverter.

Took a while and some destructive inspection to find there was one romex cable that had been chewed by critters, but the internal wire sheath appeared intact. I tested again on a rainy day and was tripping the GFCI again at home. The paper isolater inside the romex would get slightly damp from high humidity and there were probably small cracks in the wire insulation. Allowed for a small enough leak to trip GFCI but not enough to overload a breaker or even register as a load with my amprobe.

Just sharing an experience, might help?

Interesting. We're getting a pretty high incidence of this, but the client's GFCI outlets are outside (and all around Iowa)... so this may be something similar to that. I'm going to bring a new/working GFCI to swap out (if I'm allowed to shut of their breaker) to see if it's the outlet itself.

For a while we thought it could be our own power cords shorting somewhere inside the wiring. But I can't manage to replicate it here.

Geeze. Maybe you could have two residences. You start in Jax paying all the bills there. Put her on the same task in Temecula.
Give her the highlighted map east. When she runs out of money, she can join you.

Simplicity.

Thought I'd work on the pool today. Clean the filter, scoop up all the leaves; basically getting it ready for an early spring launch. But, it's only going to be 55F today so I think I'll pass, even though I am concerned about the viability of the pump I love the pool, but also regret building it...
