As a born and bred DOWN STATE Illinoisan, Blagojevich can and should rot in hell along with all the other Illinois Governors that have been sent to prison in my lifetime. I believe the count is either 4 or 5, which is pretty impressive.

I love that Dump supporters have been mostly silent about this. This Governor committed a serious and ultimately stupid felony, was caught, tried and put in prison. He's also a STAUNCH Democrat. Now, becasue Dump knows he has no shot whatsoever of ever winning Illinois, he releases this turd from prison just because Blago was a toady to him on that stupid show he had. SAD!

It's a Presidential "perk".

Reminds me of the Monty Python skit "Bring Out Yer Dead"

https://youtu.be/Jdf5EXo6I68

Always going to piss off people regardless...because. Doesn't matter which party either.

Well, one of them donated 200k to trump re-election campaigns. So twitler's hands were tied, he had to grant a full pardon.

I would rather have a president pardoning people than cutting off people's heads, that's for damn sure

saying other POTUS did some controversial pardons is like comparing a pile of dog poo with a massive elephant turd...

Trump continues to push the boundaries of conventional POTUS norms, to test his "powers" after his impeachment acquittal...like a little kid on Christmas day...

most of these pardons and commutations bring back images of his lawyers arguing during his impeachment trial that Trump's agenda was not to coerce Ukraine to do him a favor, but was to fight corruption...most of these folks committed serious acts of corruption at high levels of government or in big business...a couple were everyday folks who were associates of a previous Trump pardon...

and he's laying the ground work for more....this was just a heat check...

You're right, and I was looking through clinton's list and some of them are ridiculous... (like...his brother)....

Weirdly trump has only pardoned/commuted like 19 sentences.
Compare that to prior presidents in the 100s to 1000s.

But of only 19, 3 were murder convictions. 2 of those of prisoners of war in our custody.

That seems to stand out.

I'm less bothered by the random corrupt people. I mean, I am... but the rich will always get away with sh#t.

He's done some controversial pardons. But he hasn't hit the quantity Obama even did by this time in his presidency.

Now... of the 1,700 pardons obama issued, not a one was for murder. Trump's pardoned 3 people convicted of murder

Yeah, the really high nubmers will come later.
But he is under where obama was for this point in his presidency.
I didn't check the other presidents, because it's not that interesting a statistic.

Obama appeared (at a glance) to be pardoning a lot of drug charges tho

Moral of the stories for federal prosecutors: Make sure the guilty defendant is also convicted of state crimes so that the president can't get them out of jail.

My prediction for the future is that TRump will persuade state governors to pardon those he cannot.

I knew AOL was still a thing, because my 80 year old father still uses them to connect to the internet.

I thought he was the only person still keeping that company alive.

Even worse.
He gets internet connection from a different service, but loads AOL to go on.

Has no idea what an internet browser is.

And he pays them for this.

If someone is doing something another POTUS did why are YOU so shockingly outraged?

Did the freak with the weird haircut who tried to sell the half white Kenyan’s senate seat donate to the Trump Library?

Al......Bill pardoned a coke dealer that donated to his library and that wasn’t even the highlight. The only people he’s helping are white collar......didn’t he just do prison reform largely targeting minority criminals???

Tell me what exactly any of these newly pardoned people GAVE Cheeto in exchange or any other actual conspicuous circumstances.

He also didn’t pardon a Chelsea Manning which some lefties here even derided and he sure as hell didn’t pardon a Oscar Lopez Rivera.

Ummmm none? And if I'd followed your advice I would have taken some months of reasonable quality life from one.
