It just reminded me of a funny story my FIL told me of two elderly WWII vets that were talking about the war and it turns out that they were in the same battle on different sides and ended up living about 5 miles apart in southern Indiana.

I also think everyone is forgetting that every generation has it's share of weirdos. fog

Not to point out the obvious, but if they were having that conversation in Indiana, in English, ONE of those two vets knew that he was on a different side starting that conversation.

Not all Germans were Nazi's. If that were an SS troop, then absolutely. Most of the German Army were conscripts. They had no choice. One can't tell from a picture. How ever, the man was a soldier, and fought for his country.

Then there is the high likelihood it wasn’t a mistake. It would be easy enough to choose an American GI yet the originator didn’t. Why is that? Simple mistake? My guess is this originated at a neo nazi or white supremacy site and was intentional. While bj probably didn’t see it as propaganda it likely is.

I still find it humorous anyone would use a meme to make fun of a pic filter then act above it all. Ad in where it likely originated and we get the cherry on the cupcake.

the guy on the left looks like he's at least 21 years old...the one on the right looks about 13-14 years old, and grew up 8 years later to wear a similar uniform as the one on the left...


the one on the right was Chancellor of Germany from 2052 - 2056...


a lot of millennials served in the US military and completed combat tours in the ME...quite a few made the ultimate sacrifice...I suspect if there was a world threat worthy of fighting a world war over, many more of that generation would serve...

my son and SIL would...

and I'd venture to guess that we, Boomers, would volunteer to provide whatever support the US military would need...
