Well this sucks, my wife's company just let everyone go. With her working for a company (contractor) in a school, contractors are not paid during this time. All that money paid into short term disability for when the baby is born is wasted now.

I’m not. The comparison is because both were considered either routine or elective. If 5 bypass surgery is elective, then all (maybe excluding 6+ bypass) are elective.

Let’s shut down this whole preventative heart surgery racket. Put TW back on the table and get his old chit heart back in there. That’s effing elective too.

Maybe if Whistle was in healthcare administration it would miraculously end up becoming medically necessary.

You should contact a lawyer.

He lives in an apartment and had to sign a 12-month lease whether he uses it or not. That's the way it usually goes in college towns.

I will find 'work arounds'....each park is different, but gates are locked, caution tape and cones abound...one ramp even has jersey barriers all the way across the roads/parking lot...just a bit insane

I thought I would be smart and go to Sam's club when it opens for "plus" members at 7am. The water here in CA tastes terrible, so I always have 2-3 cases of bottled on hand. Um... I'm down to 2 cases and a mofo can't replenish at the moment.

Bzzzzzzt... there was already a line of about 50 people at 7am... and they don't open until 9am now.

F*** that.

Local Stater Brothers opens at 7:45 am for 65+ only. I get it.

Local Walmart only letting in so many people at once, now... that is just STUPID because now they're all gathered outside, even closer than they'd be inside.

*sigh*

Got about 20 minutes of fishing in this morning... Not a bite...

Now I gotta school 2 childrens... School sent curriculum over the email yesterday... Work is due in 2 weeks... The plan right now is to knock it all out in week one and use week 2 to teach the kids how to fish...

Medically Necessary and elective are two different things. Mine was definitely elective and medically necessary. If it was scheduled for now it would also be postponed. There is no good answer there and I definitely feel for Ron. The waiting is awful.

My professional background has no bearing. I doubt the Cleveland Clinic had any idea what I do. The insurance information they have is for my wife anyway. We use her policy and I don't have one of my own. I have a followup in May. Betcha a nickle it gets cancelled.

MACS I get it. I'm wound up a bit at the moment. I don't mean to bag on ya.

My small part of all this is stressing me out. I'm just totally immersed and maybe overwhelmed at the moment. My work is a moving target at the moment resulting in a constant scramble. All the misinformation (not you) makes it more difficult.

Just like gallows humor this place is a release. We are all in this together and I mean no harm.

Yes you do. But I'm cool with it. I have thick skin and a coat... and I would do the same to you. lol

I have been all over the place on the subject. First it was stupid, then it was serious, then it was stupid again... and I'm stuck on stupid (low hanging fruit).

Maybe it's just the response from the populace that's got me wanting to tell everyone to stop being STUPID. It is not the end of the world. It will pass and there is a yuge chance it'll be no worse than the flu for 98.2% of the population who gets it.

For pete's sake people... pull your heads outa your asses.

Too bad I don’t know anybody that knows how to fish. A skill I can see needing if this chit continues.

TW,
No worries. I appreciate some of the work you do. This is a great place to vent- without the need for ventilators.

Mad at the dirt.

Btw, if I hurt anybody’s feelings over the coming days and weeks..... suck it up, you pussies.

Plus, nobody is talking about the positives.
-thinning the herd lowers the worlds carbon footprint.
-for some religions the temporary death leads to everlasting life.
-atheists have their earthly misery ended.

It will suck to lose friends and family. They’ll be missed. Our time is limited anyway. With the lives some of us have led, there is no good reason we are still alive today. Enjoy the bonus minute, hour, day, week.

Sorry, Cheno. That does suck. Mrs Beach works at one of the local restaurants here so is currently unemployed. Told her if she was looking for a Sugar Daddy, I'm taking applications.

A couple of the rental companies here actually offer 9 month leases to college students. Being the only place I went to school, I thought that was standard. Lost my chit a little when we got a place for the kid in Bloomington and learned it is absolutely not the standard,

You make a good point 8. There will be some positives.

Some medical quality improvement folks are meeting with non medical entities to teach some basic healthcare practices. For example I am aware of in many states hc folks teaching the restaurant industry (Associations, chains etc) things nursing homes and hospitals had to learn such as not slopping a bucket of mop water across tables and considering it clean lol (funny but true). As a result we may end up with better sanitary practices in restaurants..... or glasses that taste like disinfectant.

Seriously good will come from this and in many ways we will learn and emerge stronger. I'm seeing some unusual collaborations beginning.

Thanks all, and is gonna do unemployment but that's nowhere near what she makes. Hoping that this corrona gets solved quickly so she can get back to work. The company said that when it's over he wants to hire everyone back.

That sucks buddy. It's getting weird out there. I think some places are taking advantage actually. FYI, Illinois waived the 1st week unpaid on unemployment. It starts immediately now. That's a plus.

This is the real problem. There are way too many folks out there in this exact boat. Way too many.

Going to be ugly.
