d'oh! Applause d'oh! Applause

Trump now calls da' COVID...

THE CHINESE VIRUS...

SCHOOL YARD BULLY TACTICS and his bad case of NICKNAME-ITIS has emerged again in full force...

I kinda sure he didn't like the recent CHINESE COMMUNIST PARTY LAME TACTICAL MANUEVER TO TRY AND BLAME THE U.S. ARMY for releasing the COVID in WuHAn with a secret special forces mission...even the Chinese people knew that was a crock of
sheeee-ite.

Love to watch the reporters trying to correct CHEETO...HE JUST BLOWS THEM OFF AND KEEPS SAYING IT..

It wasn't a secret to anyone watching it. It is amazing what a disinformation campaign can do. We used to make fun of Baghdad Bob, Pravda, Tass, dear leader etc as being absolutely absurd to the point of being almost funny. Now smart people buy the BS hook line and sinker. Willingly

is it really Chinese food if all the ingredients are locally sourced (American) and cooked by someone born in Mexico?

True story: my late Uncle Louie operated a popular Chinese restaurant in Seattle's Chinatown. He visited us in the summer of 1974, and asked me to drive him to Tijuana Mexico. He had a list of Chinese restaurants that he wanted to visit. He was looking for a couple of cooks for his restaurant. We stopped at 4-5 restaurants that day, tasting a few dishes at each place... doesn't seem weird now, but then, it was kinda odd to hear the Chinese guys yelling in Spanish to their customers and staff and then speaking to my Uncle in Cantonese...

you fergit...I'm like a genius.

It's Asian food so as to not single out a single culture.
But it's Specific(ally) one culture of many.
You decide which type you specifically want to eat.

though I'll admit it's a concept still evolving.

Anyone ever have to deal wif a China Egg?

To single out a particular type of food based on location and culture.
It's simply explanatory, not racist.
And "Cantonese" or "Mandarin". Is that offensive as well?
Maybe not racist, but bigoted for sure, if we're going to follow that flawed logic.

Then "Italian Food" should cause outrage as well. And Mexican food.
And so on, and so on...

America first is what a president should care about. But I guess that would be xenophobic, racist and un-woke.
Or maybe I'm wrong and AOC is a genius, Maybe government is the answer to everything. Maybe socialism really is the best way. Maybe the swamp is full of fine selfless loving peeps that we should give more power to. Maybe the most important thing is to have a sophisticated, likeable guy who has great hair as president, someone who is always pc and everybody likes.
The Antichrist is coming soon enough, everyone will speak well of him. Even Fox.

jeepers. now it doesn't seem as funny as when I wrote it.
on the few occasions I eat Chinese food anymore it's usually Szechuan.

Italians are never outraged by that. Ever. They love having their food so well loved panculturally (I made a new word again). And I can speak for all Eyetalians cuz I grew up in an Eyetalian neighborhood.

Mexicans might be outraged because what we eat isn't Mexican food for the most part.

You overlooked Greeks, Lebanese, Syrians, Moroccans, Krauts, Harps, Heebs, Nips, Canucks, Aleuts, and Texans.

This is short sighted thinking. In order to keep our economy growing and stay on top we need the rest of the world. That's why we send money, troops, Ambassador's, etc to protect our interests and keep the rest of the world from falling into chaos.

Back in the 17th, 18th and early 20th century we stayed out of world affairs and our economy and standards of living weren't all that great. Once we involved ourselves with the rest of the world through trade, war, immigration etc we went from the horse and buggy to Jets, Computers, The Moon etc within 100 years.

Can we do better at home. Hell yes. But, involving ourselves in the rest of the world is in our own self interest. If we don't do it someone else will and they will dictate how we live.

we've deflected again from the root question...

Why "Chinese Virus"...because the current POTUS is constantly propping up a boogeyman to fault, hate and fear in order to distract his followers from taking a real hard look at his own faulty performance...

no doubt that the virus/pandemic originated in China and that they screwed up their response...but what actual gain/positive outcome is there to be had in solving our problems here by playing the blame game?

Spanish flu, is there another more pc name or is that it? More notably was anyone ever offended? Or it wasn't Trump who called it that so it's fine?
America first doesn't mean the rest of the world isn't 2nd but it's good to know we have leadership that appreciates the pecking order. I'll do anything I can for my neighbor even my enemy but not at the expense of my family first. I guess that makes me racist and un-woke?

Ironically did not originate in Spain. They were just the only ones honestly reporting illness numbers. It originated (it is believed) in france.

But we're not talking about 100 years ago. We're talking about now. Do you want to operate under the same set of social standards we operated under 100 years ago?

Well I suppose there's some minor inconsequential good in knowing it really wasn't created by us and perpetrated upon China by our armed forces. Wrong focus though it is it still deserves mention in light of propaganda such as the Russia hoax and many other lies perpetrated for the purposes of division that have such great success because of American penchant for divisive rumor

Until 5 days ago it was either "COVID-19" or "coronavirus". The change in messaging had a very clear delineation.

This is of course also playing into the same "very fine people on both sides" contingency of his supporters.

Went back and listed to this. Makes some very good points.
It should be of interest to everyone worldwide, regardless of affiliation.

And no, it's not just about assigning blame, but about a crisis that could have been averted.
About a socialist regime that covered up the issue, until it was too late.
And about an international community that cares more about avoiding offense than revealing truth.

Early on it was deemed the Wuhan virus, and I don't see any reason why that needed to be changed.
It is describing a virus, not a people. It describes the source, and very accurately so.
The creator of the video list this line under his info -

"Nobody’s feelings were consulted during the making of this video. Anyone who has a problem with that can drop dead."

CNN ran a story warning that “the US coronavirus travel ban could backfire” and have the effect of “stigmatizing countries and ethnicities.”

The Chinese Communist Party’s official mouthpiece, the People’s Daily, called the ban “racist.”

WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus warned it would increase “fear and stigma, with little public health benefit.”

It is hard to have much confidence in a United Nations bureaucracy run by the former health minister of the Marxist regime of Ethiopia. In 2017, Tedros tried to appoint then-Zimbabwe dictator Robert Mugabe as a WHO goodwill ambassador, and he seems to have a soft spot for China.

The Council on Foreign Relations think tank said last week that Tedros owes China because it backed him in the election to become director-general in 2017.

At the press conference with Trump on Saturday, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the highly respected head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, praised the “original decision that was made by the president … [that] prevented travel from China to the United States.

“If we had not done that, we would have had many, many more cases right here that we would have to be dealing with.”

Trump’s travel restrictions began on Jan. 31. Australia and Singapore instituted their own travel limits the next day. Trump’s move bought valuable time to slow the spread of the virus and ease pressure on the nation’s health system before a vaccine is developed — which experts believe is at least 18 months away.
