real bummer, Drafter...did they give you any assurance that you'd be rehired when the pandemic crisis is over?

Didn't have to clean out my desk or anything so I'm counting on it being temporary.. wondered if they do decide to shut down for good and i draw unemployment if any severance pay goes out da window.. Think

Just thinking too much prolly... Mellow

Manager asked if I could come in for double time, I said I'd call in later. If I sign up too early and they don't need me, I have to float to another unit, so I prefer to wait till the last minute.

5pm I call into the unit. Charge nurse says "nah, we're okay" so I went downstairs to start on some stuff.

Get a text at 530 from the manager asking if I was coming in. Told her the charge already said no, they were ok. Manager says "we're not ok, want me to call her back?" I said no.

So, first day off.

sounds like this is your company's response to the downturn in business caused by the pandemic...

you and the company will qualify for relief thru the fed stimulus plan...hang in and hope your company chooses to use their relief money to restart the business and pay their employees instead of pocketing the cash...regardless you'll qualify for extended unemployment benefits...

in the meantime, apply for unemployment asap, and wait for the stipend check Kudlow says will be direct deposited in a few weeks...

not a good time to withdraw 401K...don't touch it at all costs...

We're a DOD contractor so that's why I was really surprised... i expect it to be temporary but I'm preparing for the worst... seems like the right thing to do.. already made a call to my previous employer and they seem interested.. unfortunately that was oil & gas supplier.. Mellow

Good afternoon from the terrible state of Oregon where a governor hades bent on destroying our economy has instructed us to stay home........ I said nope, can’t legally stop me from going fishing. Benton County Sheriff sided with me on it. So chew on that Governor Brown...... Other than that, no issues!

that was my reaction at first...then I realized my reality...

first off, I'm an older male with underlying health issues that put me at high risk: diabetes, asthma and high blood pressure...

second: I live with my wife, who is also older, tho a few years younger than me

third: we babysit my daughter's two young girls every day...

we live in a state with a high rate of infection...bordering Los Angeles County and Orange County...I can't take the risk of infecting them, or myself...

Got some Bounce. Gave some Bounce.

A great friend stopped over today and gave me a nice mental and emotional boost. An hour later, I was able to raise up two other brothers in the area. Electricity created, reviving tired souls.

That is what is going to help get us through this chit.

Raise another up. You won’t know what little thing can make a difference.

Blessings to all. Including Opel’s wife with her damaged fin.

Ride! Or, Keep Swimming.

Yeehaw! More fun.

Hawaii is now under a Tsunami Watch after a 7.8 earthquake off of Kuril Island. ETA 10:42 p.m.

We’re not anywhere near a Tsunami Inundation Zone so no need to move to higher grade. Probably be finishing up a cigar right around the ETA.

Good morning all. Having my coffee and trying to decide on a morning smoke. It's a wonderfully chilly 43F outside and overcast. For once I actually slept! Thank you Dante!

Spent half of yesterday shredding old tax records and purchase/sale records from two old homes going back about twenty years. Think I about burned up the shredder. Been putting that off for years but nothing else to do right now.

ATT is having some serious issues with group texting... They've always had these issues but they're really bad right now...

If you have ATT and group text people who have any other service, there's a good chance your texts will be delayed for as much as 12 hours...

I personally received about a dozen or so texts between midnight and 2am from my mom and brother last night... and what I discovered is, if you want to get hold of me while I'm sleeping, texting is not the way to succeed cuz I sleep right through that nonsense...

The issue deals specifically with group texts that land outside of the att circle... Nothing else would be affected...

Me too. My mom sends them out, and when I try to answer her, my carrier won't let it send as there are too many recipients. I freaking hate that crap, but I'm glad as I don't know who half the people on that list are. Probably better that way actually. Anxious
