Shawn, I am not blaming him for the virus being here. I am saying his lies have killed people who believed him. I am saying he is providing very little support to states in dire need of support. I am saying his response has been virtually non existent. He has authority he should have used. I am saying he needs to act as quickly as possible, even now.

Take him out of the equation. In fact take political opinion out of the equation, this is to important to give a damn about politics. Just look at the facts. The world wide morbidity rate seems to be about .05% and I think ours will come down to that even though it is much higher presently. We simply don't know how many people will catch this. There is no heard immunity like there is for the flu. It is probably going to take 18 months to develop a viable vaccine and a viable medication therapy unless we get lucky. That means this will go through our population twice. That's a lot of dead people. We need the absolute truth as best we know it. We need to take the most precautions we reasonably can. I am not being a snowflake about this. I am trying to see it as clearly as I can.

I am very happy with the leadership of the president and in his approach to handling the virus. He is doing the best he can to allieviate stress without completely nuking people's liberties.

The fact that he instantly deregulated healthcare to provide online doctors visits is amazing. That should have happened 18 years ago when it was an emerging technology under the Bush Administration.

Addotional tax breaks are definitely needed as well.

While I disagree with the stimulus backage and corporate bailouts they are probably necessary in staving off a complete and utter economic meltdown.

Yeah there are a TON of people affected by this virus and it will not likely be realistically handled within the next three years but the reality is that no leader would have the solution under these impossible circumstances.

Even Pope Francis looked completely dejected and defeated in his Urbi et Orbi announcement on Friday. This virus is absolutely something that requires worldwide unity and cooperation let alone any feeble attempt one nation can have in protecting its populace. This battle is one that will rely completely on faith in God.

JJ makes some fair points. Some things are relaxing temporarily and will go back at some point. Relaxed Telemedicine, accelerated payments, delayed surveys, suspended requests for quality data etc are just the tip. Hopefully some good will come of this and some will carry forward.

I’ve always been a big proponent of telehealth. Been pushing it since the late 90s. One of the really cool projects one of my contractors worked on was featured on the PBS news hour.

Here is a downside of telemedicine. My cardiac rehab is canceled. I’m half way through. My total number of visits is limited and I pay a $30 copay each visit.

They want to continue by having me work out at home using a treadmill or bike and stretch bands. They will call or FaceTime to check on me. No ekg monitoring, no Bp monitoring, no guided stretches or strength training. Pretty much I’d work out by myself pay them $30 each time and burn my visits up. No thank you.

I have routine follow ups with both of my cancer doctors and my cardiologist this month. All have been canceled. The telemedicine in this case isn’t as good as a real visit but it is great to bridge the gap and couldn’t have been done before.

There is good and bad. It will scale back but hopefully the good remains.
