This is seriously nothing like the flu, even the worst cases of the flu. The method that it uses to infect is significantly more damaging than influenza. Plus there's ZERO immunity. There's not a person out there with existing antibodies. Every single person who is exposed will contract it. And it's like drinking a poisonous substance. Small exposure will lead to some sickness in someone otherwise healthy, but a larger exposure will take out anyone.
The way this thing works is just deadly. Primary exposure and infection is physically destructive to lung cells. It literally destroys tissue, and the resulting immune response makes what's left, unusable for life.
This is absolutely deadly A.F.
I may have a bit of a penchant for being dramatic, usually for comedic or general narrative effect. But this has had me draw up a will. I also wrote down all important account logins and passwords and put in an envelope for my wife should she survive and I pass.
