Ron, as a field service engineer, having been a Navy instructor, and currently an NRA instructor, I don't assume anything. You never know who's reading the posts, so I keep them pretty basic and continually reference basics. If I dealing with someone that I know and have actually shot with or that I know has the background, I'll go higher up the ladder. But public generic posts I always keep to the basics. Just my way. Oh, I'll bet you have. 2/3rds of those pontificating online don't have a freaking clue. They're regurgitating **** they've read or seen some "xpurt" post on youtube. "Revolvers are dainty and jam more than autos!"

You know. Nonsense like that. ThumpUp

I stand by my assessment. I am an experienced gunsmith that's been around that long. All guns wear, the more you shoot the more they wear. But, a well made revolver that is properly maintained will not have that happen. Period.

I have friends who are longtime gunsmiths who have seen it.

However, I notice you said "properly maintained". It's very probable that these guns weren't, and that's a good point.

I'll ask them if those guns were well-maintaned or neglected, next time I see them.

Colt officer's model in the car, Springfield full size alloy 1911 in the nightstand.

John Browning knew the shape of my hand. I carried a Glock 17 and 19 (department supplied) for a while and shot both of them well, but it felt like I was holding a 2x4...
