yolo berry with some kings cut diamonds... wowza...

neighbor keeps letting his dog run up and down the alley unsupervised... I'm sure he thinks it's ok because his dog is nice, but I've got an old grape stake fence and his dog is pushing my fence boards out... and my dogs are all about it, cuz one more and they're gonna eat him like a snausage...

the other neighbors have a little cat named oliver... he's not supposed to go outside but the other day he did and jumped the fence...

fortunately for oliver, dogs are penned up on the other side of the yard... unfortunately for oliver he landed pretty much right on momma cat and she's super protective of her young ones... oliver didn't die but he probably won't venture back outside for awhile...

That would lead to a nap sooner than I want. Trying to get some stuff done while the house is quiet. I'm sure a nap will enter the picture later. I haven't partaken in that for years now. Nothing against it specifically it's just that some other substances have led me to do things I wouldn't normally do if sober.

Morning all. Swimming is improving. I am up to an hour. Eventuall I want to reach O2 muscle depletion. Also did an hour of upper and mid body work. I can see my abs, I have abs! Up to 170, gaining muscle. It's a beautiful day here today. We are having a family bbq so living dangerously. 11 people instead of 10. I've got the hard work done. Fuentes sharks, and Cohibas. 18 year Glen Morangie and 18 year Eligah Craig. Marcel Lapierre Morton and La Spinetta rose. Founders back woods bastid and Bellhaven Wee Heavy. Looks like it will be nice enough to use the outdoors heated pool. Rib eyes, chicken, and salmon. Asparagus, creamed spinach and kale, and fresh veggies with an artichoke and spinach dip. Garden fresh tossed salad. Champagne vinegarette dressing, Italian herb vinegarette dressing, wild apple vinegarette dressing. Fresh strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and huckleberries. Dam, I'm gonna gain a couple pounds.

Sposeda be rain n storms next few days so I'm trying to mow the whole yard. 90 minutes in I'm almost done with the woods. Skipping the swamp, too wet to get out there with the trimmer even with waders on. Went up to my knee as soon as I stepped in.

Had to get gas, already burned a whole tank in the woods, chit was thick.

Another sammich n a beer, time to head out again.

Looking forward to naptime

Up at 5:30 to have coffee in peace before the kids and wife wake up, then went on a family walk for a few miles while the three year old masters her balance bike, then breakfast and now contemplating yard work. We are still only in the 90s right now, so I am trying to get outdoor stuff done before next week's 108 temps...

Went out to go drop off something at the PO. Car would not start and was giving me codes like brake problem, tire pressure, door open, fasten seat belt, about everything including your are ugly and reek of Ghurkas.

It's a 2018 Honda CR-V with less than 14K. Sounded more like a dead battery to me so I called AAA who was there in about 15 minutes, put a jump on the battery. All the bells and whistles stopped. You would think that the computer could just tell you the battery was dead or getting low, no?

Took it in to AutoZone and $173 later all is well except my wallet. d'oh!

Wow, 2-ish years with the factory battery! When my wife had her Civic, she also experienced a short life battery but closer to 3+ years. The service manager told her that Honda didn’t put in good batteries so was quite common for them to fail sooner rather than later. Expecting to change out her HR-V battery soon too as it’s coming up on 3 years old.

Dang, DED... a 2 year old battery died? That's unusual for a car battery.

BTW - I'm firing up one of the Boli CG's you sent me when the vherf gets started. BigGrin

Yep, but the heat is tough on batteries everybody says. I have never had one last past about 4 years on any car I can remember. This one is 6 year warrantee, so I should get a little prorate off the next. Gonna see if Honda will give me any adjustment on the warrantee but doubt they will.

Iirc, Honda doesn’t warranty the tires and batteries, those are covered by the manufacturer.

Sucks about the battery deadeye. I have never had one last more than about 2 yrs in our heat (Honda/Acura household)... If you make a stink at the dealership, they usually just give you a new one...

My truck eats batteries like candy. I've spent countless hours trying to figure it out, I've even paid other people to try to figure it out. 5 years on and 5 batteries later, still no cause found.

Salmon slab air-curing with a fan to help things along.

Gonna paint it with maple syrup before it goes in the smoker.

Gotta use the electric smoker, been pouring rain outside.

Well, it was a glorious day here. Crash, bang, boom, the sky opened and the monsoon started. Funky tornado colored sky. Grass blowing all directions. Heading down to the sub basement to ride this one out.

They honored my warranty on a bad battery and paid for the towing to the dealership (we couldn't jump it).

My last Honda battery lasted about 4 years and it was a witch to install a new one. On the other hand my 22 year old truck has only needed one battery replacement so far.

Tennis ball protocol: No touching anyone's balls unless they are from the same household... but kicking someone else's balls are OK. Sound's like a Monty Python skit doesn't it?

Shivering and chattering teeth during yesterday's swap.

Not that it's much different today. So cold.

Up and headed out for an early morning hike with the DEDette in the mountain reserve. Then planning on taking the corvette out to stir the gears for awhile.
Then watching the Indi......... wait, gonna feel weird not having the race. Never missed one since we used to listen on the radio as kids.

Got a big 'ol Alex diadema to smoke later.
