I recently heard a rumor about “platinum status” here on Cigar Bid. Are there any brothers here who have reached “platinum status”?? How does one get to such a lofty stature??
All “platinum” members please respond and let me know how to get there.

Happy Herfing,
TBU

Well, you gotta spend some time in Z’s van to even be considered.
Take care of that, and we’ll talk...

can't believe someone's been talking about platinum status. It doesn't exist.(wink, wink) Stop asking about it. Its not super cool nor super exclusive. I mean, no one really wants free shipping right

I haven't ordered anything off of CBid or the mother ship for a long time now. If you have a shpo that protects you, there's no need to hassle with free shipping and the special deals that come with the Platinum membership.

Good point. But it's access has been slowing down since all the carbon credits thingies. Can't wait until the solar/battery power option gets fully installed

Here I thought it was just because of the social distancing. Gotta keep the staff safe.

Does anyone really know how hard it is to pick the Hooters girls for the yearly calendar when they're nude and serving drinks to you on a plane?

Yes. I had to test them all out. It was soooo time consuming, yet gratifying in a good way.

Big Ug - You must have been away a long time. Platinum, gold, etc. have been discussed here for about the last 6 years to fool the noobs. They called customer service a lot during those times and one moderator here was not amused and issued several time-outs, but she is gone now and shiny metal is back. I suppose next you will want to know about the commie 13.

TBH, I need some direction on the levels of membership. I need to know what level I need to be striving for, so I can level up.

Aloha Cereal,
I doing well and still living the dream. I hope that you are well too and enjoying life. I just wanted to stop and see what’s up with “platinum status” and maybe see if someone would show me the secret handshake.
I’m back on CBId, trying to replenish the stock from near and abroad.
Talk with you soon,
TBU

I’ve got to get used to navigating around in this new forum....TW it’s good to be back; I’m just peaking around and stirring the pot. It’s good to see that people still remember the madness of the “platinum status” and the hornets nest that it rattled at HQ.

Jarhead huh? In my time at Sony, I had the KMCAS as one of my accounts from ‘82 to ‘88 so if Jim was stationed there, who knows, we may have interacted (...like you and me at NEX...).

What’s up Whistle (and Palama)? I was stationed here at MCAS in the 90’s (1992-98); I guess that I just missed you and your time with Sony. I do volunteer every year at the Sony Open in Waialae, do you do anything with the tournament?

I’m living over on the Windward Side - but there is a little herf society out here that used to get together before the “pandemic”. Hopefully it will start up again soon and we can get together for a smow. I’ve gone a few times and maybe I’ll hit it up when things open up again.

Thanks for the warm welcome back. Too much social media and too little time.
